How do you feel about dislikes?

meh, a dislike is a dislike, a hater is a hater, and a troll is going to troll. If they watched your video, that means that you caught their attention and had it. The main point is that there is always going to be haters, trolls, and people who dislike you, but you gotta keep on doing what you love, don't let HATE or DISLIKES discourage you, just keep on moving on and progressing...
 
I have 33 videos and I'm doing really well with likes/dislikes.
But on one video, which is my most popular with 17.000 views I have 32 likes and 17 dislikes.
It is called " How to make aluminum powder" and there are two reasons why i get dislikes:
1. They want an easy way for doing it, probably with no effort at all
2. They want to make bombs( where the aluminum needs to be very very small particles)...
P.S. I will never remove the video since it works great for fireworks :)
 
I don't think anything of dislikes. Seriously, you're gonna dislike my video even though you could just say what exactly you didn't like but you choose not to do it? Well then there's nothing I can do about it. Honestly I think if faceless people like that just dislike your videos, you shouldn't even pay attention.

As to what their purpose is... I don't even know. Maybe just a way to be an a-hole? I mean it literally doesn't do anything, does it? It gives you no idea about what you could do better next time, it's not constructive criticism so I don't think it helps in any way. I personally never dislike videos, if I don't like something, I just leave or say what I didn't like, but I'm not gonna make the youtuber feel bad.
 
you can not please the world. I got one dislike so far and will probably get more in the future. just not everybody will like your content. doesn't mean you should change anything about it.
 
One really irritated me once, where I got a dislike literally 30 seconds after the video went live. How is that even possible, unless someone was constantly spamming refresh or something? Given the time taken to get to the video they can't have even watched it before clicking dislike. Yet sadly dislikes are inevitable, as they can help you appear higher in search results
 
I think the dislike button shouldn't even be there, i don't care how much i hate a video i'll drop a comment speaking my mind before i ever leave a dislike. its a very as*hole thing to do.

Just kidding of course, please don't go and dislike all of my videos (feel free to like, watch, or comment on them though :D ). I think they are there because sometimes people don't like videos. That's all. You never know why they didn't like it, but there are so many different reasons that it would be unfair not to include one.

I think most of the dislikes aren't just because they don't like the video, but it's also because they're trolling you or it's someone you p****d off recently.
 
I really don't see the point in dislikes, its a system that can get abused. Since I have had a string of haters a month back for leaving my position on a MC server so I could move on to a better community.
 
:spin:don't focus too much on dislikes! although the like to dislike ratio is a basic way to tell if a video is good or not (example, Rebecca Black is bad, and deserves all of her dislikes), most of the time, it's trolls/haters.:spin:

One of the YouTubers I watch is shofu, and I know a couple of the people who dislike his videos are the people who are hating on him (his videos get like 1000+ likes, and the occasional 9 dislikes). People leave dislikes on my videos after I reject their sub 4 sub offer. It's all good! focus on the positive and constructive feedback, and ignore the trolls. ;)
