How do you feel about dislikes?

there's alot of people who want a dislike button on facebook and this is the reason it will never happen.
People get hurt by dislikes because they read to much in to them.

I don't see the need for a button that says that I don't like your video but I'm not gonna tell you why.
instead you'll imagine the worst you can think of to be the reason...

dislike buttons fill no purpose and should never exist. If you want to tell someone that a video sucks, leave a comment or send an email.

I just don't really think so, when I think about how humans are, I don't think that it occurs to a lot of people that dis liking without feedback is a big deal because they aren't thinking from the perspective of the person they are watching, they are just thinking from their own perspective, and from that perspective it's just "this wasn't funny.... *click" or "meh... Seen it before *click" I don't think a lot of people really think to themselves "if I click this button without giving a reason, the content creator won't know how to improve!" They just kind of see a dislike button and if they dislike the content click it. Not saying that there aren't trolls and there aren't people who hate you for jealous reasons, I'm just saying that like… Even if you aren't getting feedback but a certain videos of yours is getting more dislikes than the others, you might want to take a look at that videos content and see if you can figure out why. And yes, everybody sees these things differently :)
 
I personally have 2 stances for dislikes. If someone dislikes and leave some constructive crit. to build off of, I do not mind, it better my videos. If someone just dislikes and leaves no reason why.. I'm just sitting at my computer like uhhhh....

Now that's something i totally agree with you on hahaha it sure can
 
For the most part they are simply used by spiteful/jealous youtubers, Usually I only get them if a kids asked me for rediculous favours, expecting a "yes" and I've had to politely decline. I don't think they actually harm your videos in any real way though, unless you are a small channel, in that case it can put people off your videos :(
