How do you feel about dislikes?

I remember only one of my videos ever a got a dislike. That video was me talking about the Wyatt Family's debut/attack on Kane. Now, this did make me feel a bit bad, but I can totally understand why that person did that. They probably went to YouTube searching a video that actually showed the whole segment, and were disappointed when they clicked on my video. So in the end, I kind of sympathized with that person, even though my thumbnail wasn't an indicator of the video actually being the segment.

But overall, I don't really have an opinion on dislikes. GooTube added them for a reason, so I'll just let trolls be trolls. Plus, if it's true that they help your ranking in searches, that's even better.

I'm actually starting to like the dislikes that I have. At least I know people are watching my videos. I haven't gotten one since I created this thread.

So, I've been making videos for about 3 months now, and I got my first dislike on a video a few days ago. Then yesterday I got another on the same video. The same video has 6 likes though. It made me feel pretty crappy about my video. I know they are probably trolls, and I shouldn't let this sort of thing get to me. I don't personally think dislikes are useful because you could just tell someone what you think about their video by posting a comment, and I think dislikes would make the YouTuber feel bad. What do you think about dislikes, and what are their purpose?

i remember when i first started making videos i felt suuuuuuper bad when i got a dislike lol but now its not that big a of a deal now. its just people who have a different taste of video then what your putting out. one thing i learned pretty fast was you cant please everyone and if you think you can your in for a ruuuude awakening O_O. some of my greatest videos still has dislikes lol. i have a video with close to 1500 likes and 6 dislikes. those 6 people are not the people my content is made for.keep making videos that u enjoy to make and the people who watch and subscribe for that will love everything that you put out because they subscribed to your sense of humor :).

After weeks of getting only likes, I received my first two dislikes in the last couple of days. My mind immediately went through all the possible reasons, and I had to stop myself because there is no way of knowing and the possibilities are endless. Unless someone comments about their reasons, the dislike has absolutely no use for me, so I can just ignore it. It does make me feel like a real YouTuber though :D

Dislikes. Man I had to learn to embrace hatred in general both on the 'interwebz' and real life. Internet hate is nothing, I consider it a bonus to strength my core and realize my self worth even more so that I dont drown.

Well, to be honest, I don't really pay too much attention to them- I would find them useful to show me which videos are bad, and how they could be improved, but trolls just mess that up; for example, I had my first dislike on one video... then a dislike on about five of my videos, all in the space of an hour! Plus, it shouldn't worry you too much, it's usually not that bad- one of my videos currently has 21 likes, and 4 dislike, so it's obvious what most people think!

I've sort of changed my mind. A dislike is a dislike, but it doesn't help me the slightest if they don't say why they don't like it!
