How do you deal with "Sub for Sub" comments?

We ignore them. If someone keeps asking for shout-outs we say "we don't do shout-outs because so many people ask for them, it would take over our whole show." Then we invite them to send an original drawing or artwork, which we will post during the endslate with their user name. Most people are happy with that.

I absolutely love how, instead of knocking them down entirely, you propose another means of social engagement that brings a happy medium! Quality stuff!

I'm happy to say that 99% of the time YouTube catches these and sticks them in the 'spam' section for me. Needless to say, I delete them. No second thoughts. Nobody needs dead subs, no matter how good that person's channel might be.

If I get any repeat offenders, I just block them. Luckily I don't get very many though.

It depends a bit. If they are written in a personalized way I give a polite answer why I don't do sub4sub and explain why nobody should. If they are only bulk comments I mark them as Spam and remove them.

I had a tweet like this yesterday. It depends on how it's worded. With that person, I said I would check out their channel but made no promises to sub.

Just remove and ignore them! They want you to sub them and they will certainly sub you back but they will NOT watch your videos so there's no point subbing that guy! :)

First off I get enthralled that I received a comment. Then I realize there is a catch to the comment and sadly leave it posted so I at least have one comment. I personally prefer the robot comments that say "I think you would like this youtube.com/somebozo/mypage" because at least it seems more interactive.

Brush off, Ignore, mark as spam, delete, or block? How do you guys handle these comments?

In the last two weeks, I've noticed a steady increase in sub for sub comments. Sure, a lot of them end up in the spam section - neither seen nor heard. But there are those handful of commenters who slip through the cracks, and to be frank, they do irk me; I'm not sure what the common procedure of handling them are.

Would love to hear how you guys deal with these comments!
I usually remove them, I want people to stay on my channel instead of going off to someone else's. I moderate most of my comments pretty thoroughly.

I hate it when people say that on my channel, the way I see it is if someone isn't subbing you for your content, whats the point :s
