HELP! CUSTOM URL HAS /C/ IN IT!?

The new YouTube Urls have C's in them. There is nothing you can do about it. If you don't want a C your only option is to go back in time and start before the system change.
I talked to YouTube about it and they were very clear that youtube dot com / c / your channel name is here to stay.

Alright, so I I tried this before with different results... I have discovered you can simply remove the /c/ when typing it into a url and it will direct to your YouTube page. I feel like this is newer since last time I tried this, it didn't work.

In other words, this is resolved!

Personally I don't have a problem with that, I'm just annoyed that you used to be able to have a custom url and now there's requirements. I get it but I'm sure it's the same as if you were born into money and then became homless D; Bad reference I'm just frustrated by it

Fortunately you can be homeless, make 99 cents. Buy a domain, verify your website at the library and make a custom URL =P. Yes their requirements have become more strict. But they have very doable options. Even IF the 500 subscribers were the only way to get a custom URL it's still quite possible. But the fact that they offer a custom URL option makes it incredibly easy for anyone.[DOUBLEPOST=1444975841,1444975759][/DOUBLEPOST]

This was one of the things that I brought up with YouTube. if you remove the /c/ it may work yes. But they "plan" to remove that at some point. So you will be obligated to use /c/. I can copy and paste the email if you wish.

I removed the /c/ and it is now working. So glad! Would love to see the email though if you have it!

Again, it will work for now. But it won't forever. Here is what they said to me.

We are moving away from username based URLs, since channels today do not need to have usernames. If you have a username associated with your channel, your existing URL will continue to point to your channel for now. We've introduced a new URL format to better align with your current branding. It will appear as: youtube dot com / c / xxxx
This URL will function in addition to your existing URLs which all still direct to your channel.

Thanks for sharing this. That's pretty silly that they are talking about removing username based urls. We've got channels to promote! haha
