Having Trouble Finding a Market

Hi guys!

So I am having trouble finding a market, or fan base.

I do movie reviews and am trying some of the suggestions in a lot of the threads here (which are fantastic) but it doesn't seem to be helping me much with my niche.

Reddit is a great tool, however I'm having a difficult time finding an area to talk about movies without it seeming as if I am trying to spam or solely talking about it to promote.

Social media seems to gain views to certain videos I put up, from people who want to see what I'm up to, but it doesn't gain subscribers or a steady fan base.

I made a Twitter and try to keep a personal connection with my followers, but gaining followers is similar to subscribers. I gained a few using hash tags but I haven't been able to use it to really 'get myself out there'.

I have even tried networking through youtube with others in my similar area, but most either want to sub4sub (which I don't want) or don't care about others channels.

I was wondering what other tips techniques you guys have that I may be able to implement, or if there is anyone in my niche who has the same issues, and what works for them.

Thank you!

I think just making great review videos and uploading them, keeping at your social media circles (and expanding them), using good tagging, descriptions, etc. and you'll get there. You've only been at this for about a month, so you're going to have to be patient and let things flow in as they do.

Calling on personal connections to call on their social networks to check you out can be a good way of increasing the number of eyeballs on your content, as can joining other social/online communities geared toward your type of content (movie review sites, movie fan sites, etc.). You are, however, in a really popular category for people to make videos, so you're going to have to establish yourself with many great reviews that people will want to come back to before you're going to launch.

As always, I say to just be persistent, create and upload regularly, and be good to the people who already follow you. It's a long, slow process, but that's part of the design of it.

You gave me some very solid advice. I appreciate the feedback. I will definitely implement some of these and see what happens.

I will just do my best to make entertaining reviews and since it's something I enjoy doing, and do it as a hobby, being patient is no problem. I'm looking forward to growing over time.

Thanks :)

I'm glad it was helpful! Good luck!! I watched a couple of your reviews, and you are very good at the genre.
