Having Confidence in your Channel - Do you?

It used to be something I would keep to myself and close friends, the type who we would share literally whatevers new in life with, but at some point I think I started looking at my channel and liking the improvement I had made enough to start letting others know about it.

Even so, I normally don't divulge too much in normal conversation unless asked. Feels like it has a boastful nature to it that I don't swing with

I'm serious about my channel. I am serious about my growth and someday having a million subscribers.

When people ask me in public what I do, I used to sigh and say Insurance (my irl job) but now I smile with confidence and say "I'm a content creator on YouTube." Some people are taken aback and instantly have questions and become very interested. My boss at my normal job knows about my channel, my parents do, my friends do...I make it known because I don't want to allow myself to get cold feet or lose momentum. I feel like if you are serious about your channel, you should be proud and declare you're a youtuber, whether you have 1,000 subs or 1 million. (Aside from those of you who prefer to keep it secret, which is your thing and totally fine). But for me...having this confidence makes my dreams seem even more real and I've even begun to get sponsorships and free items/deals.

So I guess the basis of this is...have any of you had the joy of this experience and going 'real world' with talking about your channel and your serious passion?

I am 50/50 on your statement here. I am more than proud of my YouTube channel and love making videos and hope to grow but at the same time with people who have so little numbers who want the exact same as you will have a more difficult time to pluck uop the courage to say its what we do because well we dont earn enough to make off of it and we also have a low sub count (50-250). if I had 1,000 subs I would tell everyone too. But I dont and telling my boss and friends "Oh yeah im a content creator on YouTube" would make them question. If you have such a good job being a YouTube Creator why do you still have the job you do and move away?

TLDR: Yes I am proud of my YouTube channel but declaring it's what you do when you dont earn much (liveable wage) from it and dont have a large group even hitting 1,000.

It's a bit weird. I'm proud and passionate about what I do and tell everyone that I have a channel, but when they ask for the link I'm all like "ahh not yet" because I know I can/will produce better videos than what I'm doing right now. But I guess, since there's always room for improvement, I would have to say "not yet" til the day I or YouTube dies :wacky2:

I'm very confident in my channel, despite it being early days.

To achieve anything of any measure, you need to keep at it until every last ounce of hard work is done. If you want to share your content with a vast number of people like myself, that means a lot of work, and a lot of effort. If you go into that kind of journey without confidence and faith in your abilities, you probably won't stick with it and will give up before you see any kind of success. On the other hand, going in with complete confidence and determination to achieve the things you want to achieve is a sure-fire way to ensure they happen if you stick working for them long enough. It might take you a few months, it might take you 20 years, but complete faith in yourself and perseverance is what makes big things happen!

"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve" to quote good ol' Napoleon Hill :)

Well good on you mate.

I have this belief that if you try, and don't achieve, then you clearly didn't want it. (Aside from disabilities and other obvious reasons I should NOT have to mention). If you want something, you WILL get it.

Well I already told family, friends and coworkers about my channel when it fit but I don't hammer it in people's faces.

I have been gaming since i was 9 years old im 17 now and i still game all day long sometimes i started doing youtube 9 months ago i loved it and still do but its hard getting subs and stuff but that's also the thing that drives me getting more subs and showing more people and i think confidence is one of the big role players
