Having Confidence in your Channel - Do you?

MissFushi

Kawaii Gamer Princess
I'm serious about my channel. I am serious about my growth and someday having a million subscribers.

When people ask me in public what I do, I used to sigh and say Insurance (my irl job) but now I smile with confidence and say "I'm a content creator on YouTube." Some people are taken aback and instantly have questions and become very interested. My boss at my normal job knows about my channel, my parents do, my friends do...I make it known because I don't want to allow myself to get cold feet or lose momentum. I feel like if you are serious about your channel, you should be proud and declare you're a youtuber, whether you have 1,000 subs or 1 million. (Aside from those of you who prefer to keep it secret, which is your thing and totally fine). But for me...having this confidence makes my dreams seem even more real and I've even begun to get sponsorships and free items/deals.

So I guess the basis of this is...have any of you had the joy of this experience and going 'real world' with talking about your channel and your serious passion?

I had a VLOG channel before which I was not really confident because my ideas were cool but somehow annoying and so I switched to gaming channel and I'm much more confident about it now. I can show my cousins proudly that THIS GAMING CHANNEL IS MINE and They appreciate it :)

My name is Dweros and im a YouTube content creator! In seriousness though, I always talk about is passionately. Its somethings I enjoy doing, I've learned a lot of new skills (and stll learning) that's something I can always get passionate about.

Everybody knows that I have a channel. I have sent videos to my boss, my coworkers, friends family on Facebook, etc. The whole reason I started a channel was to share with people without sending them a huge file. I only found out later that you can actually make money.

I haven't mentioned my channel yet in conversations, but I did a presentation video about my internship in the same style as my YouTube videos and people from my college seemed to find it funny so I'm definitely gonna tell them about my channel soon.

I have mentioned my YouTube channel during job interviews for internships though since it fits my college major (Audiovisual-Animation)

I have confidence in my channel, but my friends and family have very little interest. They never ask me about it so I'm trying not to say too much because it's boring to them.

That's really awesome to have confidence in something you hope to have a future in, and personally I think I am too but just not enough!
Like everyone I know, knows but I feel like I should be more enthusiastic about it haha

My channel is my art basically, and though I don't really take my art that serious, (Youtube started 100% hobby).
The fact that many people really love it gives me such a boost of confidence, I couldn't see myself stopping animating ever.
For me, it's the same feeling like when you prepare a lovely gift for a close friend, and you're just so excited to give them it to see their reaction.

I can't post often at all, so its months between uploads, and as the animation gets nearer completion, I get more and more excited to see what the viewers think.
months to create, minutes to watch, but the really wonderful comments will stay in my mind forever :)
