Has YouTube become BORING?

Also, I wish that all the creators who are doing all these repetitive challenge and tag and reaction videos would allow themselves to stop chasing after viewers and just allow themselves to be weird and fun and themselves, you know? I guess there's a real rush to having more and more and more viewers, and I get caught up in it too, sometimes, but knowing you can make anything you want for almost nothing and have the chance of anyone in the world seeing it is such a powerful thing, so I wish voices were a little less homogenized on the platform.

I agree. And I think it's more fun to try and get "famous" doing my own thing than being another Pewdiepie or Angry Video Game Nerd (since I upload gameplay crap and "reviews"). I actually get quite a bit of hate because my reviews aren't actually reviews. I inject so much random crap in them because I refuse to review games the way thousands of others are.
 
The problem is that there are very limited ways of creating a viral channel and everybody who "discovered" the "algorithm" uses it to its limit (and sometimes behind).
But this is what happens when you put the channel selection and promotion in the hands of a real algorithm (with the help of some random humans from time to time).

So yes YouTube is Stagnant and Predictable and I would add very Stagnant and Predictable.

I wonder how long the formulas for each kind of video will last before some other style has to be found. How long will people keep shouting at video games or slap ukulele music into their vlogs or dub step into their intros?
 
I've taken a look at Vimeo, but not seriously..... I guess yeah

Playback seems laggy in their player, but maybe that's my connection but I doubt it.... do you have to upload or can you embed? is it worth it?
 
Has he watched a representative number and selection of Youtube videos? I doubt it, because there are so many. I guess "everything was better in the olden days" is still a popular meme, though.
 
Even some of the non-original channels can be fun to watch every once and a while. For example, there are millions of Minecraft YouTubers, but someone like Ssundee can still create interesting content along with a few other games. (Sims 4 and Plague INC).

Then you get the completely different channels such as Ashens.
