Has YouTube become BORING?

In a recent video from the "I Hate Everything" channel, he stated that he believes Youtube has become Stagnant and Predictable....

I agree with him.... do you? What do you think and why?

I realize there are gems with original content..... but discovering them is hard when all Youtube wants to promote is Markaplier doing Virtual Reality and gaming vlogs, or PewdiePie doing........... Virtual Reality and gaming vlogs....... or Jimmy Fallon and every other Talk Show, haha....

Look, I understand those are the nature of those channels and there are millions of other gaming channels doing the same damn thing trying to emulate those two or whatever other gaming channel you can name... The only hook for those channels are the personalities cause its the same content all the time, just a different games

idk guys, I'm not bored myself, I love doing my channel..... idk

I agree with the part about Youtube wanting to promote big channels like Markiplier, PewDiePie, or even Prank Vs. Prank. They wanna focus on what works and pulls in ad revenue, and that's understandable. It's honestly up to us to get people to notice ourselves if we're doing something different that we think people will like. And we have to do the noticing for others as well. At this point though, there are thousands of channels trying to be shouty, loud gaming channels or vlogs and the like. So noticing and getting noticed will be difficult.

Since monetization became available to everyone, it has definitely become more of an imitation game than it was before. There's a lot more stuff to wade through to get to the good stuff. But I'll take YouTube over television any day! Now that's a truly boring medium!

Yeah. Television sucks so much now. Talk about imitation... And yeah, everyone wants to do what made other people "rich" and "famous." Hell, I do too. But I try not to inject too much of that into anything. If ever. Standing alone can be difficult though. I ramble and am a little too random. But it's my style. I have 0 plans to go to Games Jam or wherever and download some poop game that everyone else is playing and then proceed to yell at it for 10 minutes.

This is why you find sites that find good random videos and post them. I go to a bunch of the pet sites and viral video sites and they do random stuff

If you're willing to search around and follow suggested videos after you've searched out something definitely helps. Also, I have found so much documentary content, both professional and amateur, that has kept me fascinated by so many different things and different subjects that I've been able to look up and read about and learn about and...no, it's not boring at all.

If you're going to the YouTube front page and following the Trending videos, then yes, it's boring. Also, I wish that all the creators who are doing all these repetitive challenge and tag and reaction videos would allow themselves to stop chasing after viewers and just allow themselves to be weird and fun and themselves, you know? I guess there's a real rush to having more and more and more viewers, and I get caught up in it too, sometimes, but knowing you can make anything you want for almost nothing and have the chance of anyone in the world seeing it is such a powerful thing, so I wish voices were a little less homogenized on the platform.
