Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone uses Facebook and Twitter to promote their YouTube channels and if it works.

I run my kids channels and seen a few that do this but don't have a huge amount of follower. But I suppose it can another part of promoting the channel. We use Instagram and find that is pretty good.

Anyway how does it work for you guys- good, bad???

Thanks :D:D:D

Hiya

I use facebook and twitter to advertise or share my videos, not only does it reach a broader audience if anyone comes across it but it also just makes sure that you have utilized the full possibility of sharing :p

I've noticed that things I don't share compared to things I do share generally have a difference, for example, if I have made one video which I don't share, it doesn't seem to take off as usual and I end up getting little views (although it doesn't bother me), when I share on twitter or facebook or discord it just lets people know who follow you that you've uploaded. I've seen that when I share, people who have maybe not noticed that I upload goes and checks it out!

Also, when it comes to having social media, it puts your channel out there. It gives people more opportunity to actually find your channel then relying on YouTube.

Hope any of this helps :)

I use Twitter cause I feel it's the most effective as far as promotion goes. It really depends though, cause you would need to be more active on it to get anywhere (which I'm a victim of this myself).

I would say, use Twitter but if you want to try Facebook go ahead (I haven't gotten anywhere with Facebook so I'm not really sure of it)

Hi Joley, and thanks for the reply.
Twitter is what I was mainly looking at, any promotion I suppose is better than non and sound like it helps you.
I hope to set this up by the weekend - thanks again :)[DOUBLEPOST=1523858404,1523858264][/DOUBLEPOST]
All of my videos get posted to Twitter, Google+, Gab, Minds and I upload them separately to Facebook. I really don't see much out of it though.
Thanks Cephus, it does get very time consuming uploading videos to various sites. I will try Twitter first and see how it goes.
Thanks :)[DOUBLEPOST=1523858599][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hi CJ, Im not a big fan of Facebook - I don't think it's what it was as a marketing tool but may try it out. Twitter though I like so will try that as most replies seem be be positive about it, and I do use it for myself.

hi all
I am only a small and new YouTuber but I have been using twitter and Facebook.
Twitter is handy to use and easy to keep in contact with your subs, and also helps you find others who might be interested in your videos.
I make a short 30 second trailer for lots of videos and upload them to Twitter with a link to the full videos,
this gets a few extra views.
Facebook for me has been almost pointless and I am sure i am just not doing something right, I upload the same video trailers to my Youtube channels page and get very little clicks to my Youtube videos,
I have also paid £3 to boost a video post as an experiment to see how that works and it said my video trailer reached 800 people but only resulted in 1 like. And they did not even watch the full video.
I understand that my videos are not to the level of the bigger Youtubers but the trailers I put on Facebook where always the better bits and still I got very little in return for my £3.
but then again it was only £3 and maybe worth it for the experiment.

No, it's mostly automated. YouTube will automatically post to Twitter and Google+ if you link your accounts. I manually upload to Gab, Minds, Patreon and MakerSupport (mostly because the last two will not allow auto-posts from the outside) and I use TubeBuddy to automatically upload to Facebook. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

May I strongly disagree?
It is not a bank account to runit for them! :p
It is like riding their bike!

Second reason is that in the urge to get followers:
A. You don't let them socialise by themselves
B. Whatever stranger person may subscribe...

Of course I might overreact... :)
