Extremely camera shy?

I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem (being camera shy) I had when I first started making YouTube videos? I always had to repeat myself a couple of times (still do sometimes.) before I was satisfied with my body language and clarity.
 
I know what you mean dude. I don't make videos of my face but when I do commentaries I usually do it twice or three times becasue I didn't like how it sounded the first time.
 
ME! Yes, I'm very very self conscious in the camera, I wanna do the best reaction and facial expression I could get out of me, redoing several shots just so I have a variety to pick on
 
I have done a lot of research on body language and on camera acting however, it is still hard to act natural, there is just something else about talking directly to a camera.
 
Yep! I'm extremely camera shy and I'm ALWAYS doing multiple shots because of it. But it's okay! Practice makes perfect and hopefully we'll be comfortable one day. Lol.

Agreed! and to make matters worse, I am from South Africa so I have an Afrikaans accent, I sometimes struggle pronouncing English words without sounding weird lol

Yes, that's the only reason I do voice overs, got any tips?
 
Until I did my first video with my face on it I was extremely camera shy, but when I got good feedback back I was happy enough to carry on. Plus don't let one bad comment stop you doing from what you love!
 
Practice makes perfect! Takes a couple tries of being in front of the camera until you can warm up to it lol. Keep making videos and talking to the camera and next thing you know it will feel like second nature
