I put it on my resume, but without a link because I'm no longer active. I say I used to be involved and how it helped me learn things, particularly in video editing.

i'm so glad you decided to just go ahead and do it. i completely understand your perspective and can relate. i'm also in the marketing & communications field so i agree that having the channel is a huge plus professionallyComing from a professional career with 10 years of business experience, this was definitely a major concern for me and a primary reason I waited so long to start a youtube channel.
One day I decided I just didn't want to wait any longer and cast those fears aside. I decided it was time to live for me and not anyone else.
But I still am cautious and haven't revealed my full name. I probably won't until I know I can fully support myself from youtube and won't have to worry about the impact for a while. That said, I think my next position I accept if I do go back to working a regular job would be in social media, so I think my channel will only benefit me in that case.
