Ever worry about employers?

Posting Mad!
do you ever worry about what a potential employer will think when he or she googles you and finds your videos? perhaps many of you don't have this worry because you use a unique YouTube name, but for those of you that use your actual name.. does this concern you?

i'm not too worried, because i'm going into the marketing field so it's actually a PLUS that i can demonstrate familiarity with YouTube as well as growing views, subscribers, etc. however.. I do feel slightly embarrassed thinking about a future employer watching an OOTD video of mine or something. i will definitely keep on doing my thing, since i enjoy it, but like.. still.. awkward to think about

whoa never thought of that before Probs because i havent had a job before lol but that would be defiantly awkward and weird but maybe they will be a fan give suggestions who knows

I'm not really bothered abt people searching for my videos and ranking me higher, so I'm okay with my current name, unless I reach 500 subs, I might choose funky name for my channel :)
THE FUN TRACK WILL START AFTER 1000 SUB, THEN I WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING ABT MY CHANNEL :)

Yeah I can see how using your real name could affect an employer's decision. They seem to check everything, social media wise, these days. Hence I rarely use my actual name online anywhere :D But I agree with you that in your case, it could work to your advantage

No worries on my end either! I'm looking to work in the entertainment industry, so, if anything, hopefully my content will help! I probably won't be getting any jobs working with children though...

lol i doubt they would mention it to you, but most employers do google applicants!!

well that's a good mindset! lol. i don't have a "fun track", but I do think if i got loads more subs I would be more carefree about the things i post :)

they sure do. and if i were hiring someone i would too! not saying i would let it guide my decision, but i would be far too curious not to look! you're probably wise...

I have the thoughts of my potential and current employer in mind all the time! So I make sure I don't do anything that would jeopardize my job.

Haha this is a great question. By day, I'm a professional. I work in finance, and usually wear a suit and tie to work. When I was doing gaming videos I kept it on the down low, but some of my bosses found out and actually watched my videos and got a laugh. I have a few of my co workers that watch my videos on a regular basis :D

I never hid what I did. However, I was worried that the wrong person would find out that I had filmed without permission. I made sure to keep important things off camera such as security issues. co-workers and and customer addresses. (link) It's too late now as I resigned in 2013 =)

I am quite a strange person and I don't really feel shame very often, so I am okay with it, they can see an extreme version of the personality they are going to get. Plus I want to be a performer so it goes somewhat hand in hand[DOUBLEPOST=1428387159,1428387138][/DOUBLEPOST]actually saying that I am unemployed and am struggling to get work....hmmmm
