"Embarrassed" about youtube?

Im really supportive of my channel but if people I think give 0 whats about youtube Im not going to tell them just people that actually have an interest in it, my family brother his girlfriend and her friends know about it and couple people here and there, I was a little embarrassed about my videos at first and made me go back to the drawing board after my first videos and I'm currently filming 2-3 in advance so I don't have to do much work over my school break coming up, but if anyone asks me if I have a youtube I will say yes I'm just not going to advertise it to everyone I know ( I do that with my instagram though)
 
I used to be really shy about my channel, and I didn't want to promote it to people I knew or on platforms that had people I knew, but I overcame it and they liked my videos! Biggest thing on the internet, people are going to love, people are going to hate, but you have to do it for yourself and no one else.
 
I honestly thought about not telling any of my friends or family because I thought they would say it was silly.
But then I realized that their support would mean everything to me. In addition, my whole point in creating my channel was to let it be a safe place for people who love comic books to chat, discuss and meet new friends. I decided to put any embarrassed feelings aside and just put myself out there. Because if I didn't, someone could miss out on the chance to feel included! :)
 
I felt the same way when I launched my channel. I was telling my boyfriend I was afraid of what my friends were going to think or "Are they going to laugh at me or hate it!?" I don't know why I would ever think for a moment like that. It is a bit "scary" putting yourself out there in front of the whole world but i laughed at my thoughts and now I post about it on my personal FB profile and no longer afraid of what people think. This is something for me I wanted to do for a long time. I am proud of the work I put into and I am 100% myself. I also have the help and creativity of my boyfriend. He volunteered and he wanted to be apart of it. He supports everything I do and that means a lot for the fact I am 2, 000 miles away from my best friends and parents.

So no matter what everyone keep doing your thing and be proud of it! No matter what hate comments or negative feedback you may receive. Just dust your shoulders off and kept at it!
 
PFFFFFFT im still embarassed now. What I do is tell people about my channel before they can find out, that way I don't have to be surprised when they say "hey i watched one of your Youtube videos!"
 
I told my family about my channel, and they were really supportive! It helps having them know so I can go to them for advice and ideas! My best friends know about my channel, because a lot of them love YouTube as well, but even the ones who don't know a lot about channels support me! It's great having the most important people in my lives know, but as for other people in my life, I definitely don't talk to them all about it, just because they probably would have no idea what I'm talking about, and probably wouldn't have an interest in it either. I think it helped with having my blog for a couple of years, because I got used to the idea of putting myself out there on the internet and not being embarrassed about it! Of course, YouTube is a bit more nerve-racking because you're actually recording yourself talking, but I'm getting more and more comfortable with the idea of people knowing about my channel. If it's something you love doing, don't be embarrassed! :)
 
My inspiration was watching famous YouTuber's first videos, tells you how THEY started and guess what every YouTuber had one thing in common and that was being nervous, embarrassed etc. So yeah with time it'll get better and you'll become more confident.

We're in the exact same boat! We haven't told anyone any friends or family or shared on Facebook yet... If we ever hit 1k subs we are going all guns blazing to our friends like ''IT AIN'T SO BAD!'' haha.

Until then, keeping it on the down low. :whistling2:

Hello guys! I think is a wonderful idea to share with close friends and etc. I was super nervous about but it helps you get your channel out there more to different audiences. For the fact some of my friends are friends with people I don't even know. I post on my private facebook account and all my social medias. It is a really fun way to meet new people also. Good to spread your wings! I am proud of what I have done so far with my channel. I have great support from my boyfriend and my best friends who said they like my channel so far. Who cares what every one think!?! what matters is that YOU are happy in what you do and be yourself. :)
