"Embarrassed" about youtube?

I used to work at a large financial corporation and I didn't talk about it at work for years, just a few people who I knew would appreciate it. I wasn't embarrassed so much as I wanted to keep that part of my life separate from my professional life. Some people don't understand and say insensitive stuff like "you must have too much free time" when they hear about the videos. Now that's kind of ironic because now I work on YouTube full time and don't have to go to a job at all!
 
I similarly keep my youtube life separate from my work life. Even though most of my coworkers in my department but I have never told them what it is. I'm the video specialist where I work and even though they're curious, I still keep them at bay, haha
 
I haven't really told anyone about my channel, not because I'm in any way embarresed, but I'm actually not sure if im nailing it or making a fool out of myself hahaha, Maby if I get like 500-1000 subs one day then I'll post my channel to my facebook, but for now it's my own thang :P hah
 
what is this hot wheels game? haha... No I'm not embarrassed at all... I'm really proud of the feedback I'm getting and I just launched two days ago.... my co workers in my department know I have a channel and really want to see it, but my boss, who also is eager to see it, says it might be better if people at the office don't know because the content isn't appropriate for "work" and some of the more traditional people might not understand and look at me differently... So I just don't hand out the link at the office....

which kind of sucks, but I guess I understand... my channel is funny, but it's got a weird concept and kind of out there, haha

Some of my friends know, and so far the response has been really positive. I told my parents once, and they were good about it but haven't brought it up again (which in their language means they think it's a little bizarre but they're just letting me get on with it.) I'm in two minds about putting it up on facebook, because I have family on there and I don't know how they'd react if they found it. So we'll see.
