Do you think gaming channels will ever be dethroned?

Considering the fickle nature of the internet, the ever-creeping takeover by big studios of places like YouTube (trending videos and highly-viewed/shared videos are most often promotional materials for TV shows or movies) and what may happen with different platforms that may push into YouTube's space, I don't think there are any guarantees at all. The next big YouTuber may be someone that nobody sees coming, who starts a format that nobody expected. Also, YouTube may introduce some new features we haven't considered that would make some other style of video a lot more popular. It's still a really new format, so I wouldn't hang all your predictions on gaming or any other type of videos at all.

Here is my take on the state of YouTube gaming: It is starting to wane. If you compare the number of views of each video to the number of subscribers on PewDiePie's channel, that ratio less than 1:10. It may seem that he has a lot of viewers, but in actuality no. Other than that, almost every game has the same format as other games, and eventually people will get tired of it.

I make sketch drawing videos as a staple, and if there is any other kind of video I would make I have scripts up my sleeve. There's just no time to read them out loud in a poor environment.

For me personally, it's a really difficult question to answer. I don't think Pewdiepie will be dethroned though unless he actively decides to not work as hard as he currently is now. So far, he looks like he is always expanding with his new YouTube Red series and all the other type stuff he produces like his book and stuff, this will definitely bring people back to is gaming material and increase his audience. I think that's what it's all about nowadays, being able to adapt to the times and change pre-emptively before the times overtake you. I've always admired Pewdiepie for what he does even though I'm not that into gaming, dude has done so much
