Do you ever feel like giving up?

I wouldn't say i think about giving up (its too much fun) but i definitely get disheartened when i look back at the numbers. When you consider how much time/effort (and money in some cases) you put in to look back and see, well not a lot, can be a kick between the legs. The thing to remember about YouTube is it only takes on video and if you keep posting then you're always going to have another shot at "making it".

Lately i had a surge of subscribers and hit 100 subs which I am so happy about, but im still gutted that it took me almost a year to do so. I put so much time and effort into my videos that its starting to get me a little down, due to the fact i seem to be getting nowhere with it. I've seen people that have been on youtube for 3 weeks and have triple the amount of subscribers, Yeah im happy for them, but i just think...am i doing something wrong. Should i just not bother. But its the love for recording that keeps me going and i only really have 2 active subscribers. 1 is my best mate and another is someone ive got to know through him being active. My question to you is exactly what the title says..Do you ever feel like giving up?

You should not give up. Any type of recongnition is good and it takes a while to really get noticed.

Do it for yourself and not the numbers otherwise what's the point? If you truly are enjoying making your own content then it shouldn't matter how fast or slow the numbers are coming in. Reach out to your subscribers and see what it is that they like best about your videos and what it is they would change, you never know one of them might have a really good idea that pushes your channel further.

While I do admit that sometimes having few subs/views/comments is a bit discouraging.... I just can't give it up. Just too much fun. Maybe a break if I'm busy with other stuff like blogging, or work gets too stressful... but I'll at the very least, always feel like making a new video whenever I see a movie in theaters (the urge to review it is so strong) or whenever I got to a con (the urge to cover the con is also too strong).

I got my first 100 a year after I started posting seriously rather than just random stuff I made. I started my channel 3 years ago (I think). Everyone gets that feeling when you feel like giving up, but you never give up! Because youtube takes commitment. It shows the true grit of someone's determination.

You have to stand up and say ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED! And then quietly sit back down, take the sd card out of your camera and upload it to youtube.

Keep it up man. Everyone goes through grey spots, you just need to keep at it. And being on Yttalk is the best first step you could take :D

I agree with you. Sometimes, yes, I do feel like giving up. But I love what I do, If I ever want to make a living out of what I love to do I cant give up. I still upload daily usually even though I only have 29 subs [emoji4]

You shouldn't give up, I've just started a new channel, and have like 8 views in 2 days in total. On this channel I have about 160 subss, it took me about a year and a half to do so, don't give up! :)

Oh yeah. That's why I stopped uploading recently and revised my description. I feel like there's no point in killing myself to make new content to little reception anymore, but at the same time feel like my channel is worth keeping for the 2k subs/2 million views it has. No idea, for now though I've somewhat given up. Yes.
