Do They Really Like Your Content?

Regarding the point of whether people truly like your videos, in my honest opinion, most people don't care. The way I identify someone who truly likes your video is someone who watches it all, shares it with their friends, possibly leaves a sincere comment, and preferably offers to financially support the uploader somehow. Unfortunately, we all know how rare those kinds of consumers are on the net.

I agree with your comment. If they truly care, they would leave kind sincere comments and also try to support the content creator somehow.

This is true, success is when you get views and virtually no comments, and not many likes, and a few dislikes.

This is when you know your video is getting exposure to real viewers (not self promoters) who actually clicked on your video and watching it for the sake of actually watching it. Real viewers tend not to interact very much, will consume your video and move on... They don't spend a lot of energy commenting or liking unless you've really upset them or they've seen something amazing that you've done.
 
I've been getting more of these types of comments lately. I generally just say, "Thanks for watching!" and then let it go at that. They probably won't be by again, so I don't stress myself over it too much.

i have tried doing this ever since i joined youtube. They never seem to leave though. I guess it just depends on what kind of people you attract to your channel.

Do you get the same commenters over and over again? That's pretty terrible. If someone does that to more than one of my videos, I'd start deleting their comments, because that's really just using your content for their potential gain.

Mostly different users. If i see them post on more then one video of mine i delete there comments or anything to try to get rid of the comments.

In extreme cases you can block folks, by going to their channel and their `about` page, and the drop down tab there. I used this functionality once because someone was hitting every video that we released immediately with the same pasted spam comment, probably only viewing the videos for 5 seconds.
 
What worried me the most is that... am I attracting the wrong people to my channel? YTTalk is an awesome forum, and from this article only, clearly it has some great Youtubers, but that does not mean that YTTalk is free from sub4sub'ers, is it? I mean, the only place where I publish my videos other than to my friends is here and on reddit. I really doubt that all of my friends suddenly started a Youtube channel and want me to sub to them :P
So, conclusion is. Does advertising over YTTalk, on the normal videos page, get you people who don't care about your content?
 
If anyone utters the words "sub back" they already lost me. Heck, just the other day I got a comment that literally said "subscribe for subscribe". It also got auto filtered in the spam box, YouTube is pretty good about catching blatant self promoting comments I found.

The ones that truly like your content will never mention for you to check out their channel. And if they do, you'd want to check out their channel because they left a great comment, and they have done so for a very long time.
 
I get comments like this all the time, and they just get deleted... The worse ones are 'Hey nice vid, you have loads of potential, join my shoutout series and gain 100 active subs ' Its clear these people just click on the video, copy and paste some s****y comment like this and go onto another channel. Some people are just desperate for subs/views I guess
