Do They Really Like Your Content?

I have got like... 5 to 10 subs or comments that just went on the same structure of...
"Entertaining video! I left a sub, mind subbing back? Hope you will be active, and I will do the same"
"Awesome video! Left a sub, mind subbing back?"

And the list goes on and on, the basic structure of "(Insert compliment here) (Left a sub, mind subbing back?) (Then some stuff about you being active)". Now what annoys me about that is... I get that from people who are always 150 subs+, one time from a guy with 3000 subs. Like... for real? Is it that you rephrased "sub4sub" into "subbed, sub back please" will make any difference?

Why am I so mad about this? Because now I can't differentiate between someone who really likes my content, and someone who just wants me to sub to him... and someone who just left me a kind comment so I don't feel bad if my content is bad. Those people could really mean what they are saying with "Awesome video" and all, but when I check my subs every now and then. Those people who came for sub4sub are always unsubbing after like 3 days. Clearly my content is exponentially entertaining for them. I mean... if someone will even approach me for a sub4sub... at least be the same channel as me. Why on Earth do you think that I would be interested in Fifa... when I am playing CSGO?!?!?!?!

Now if you got to this point, I would like to congratulate you because you probably noticed how rageful I am and that you have survived through it. Do you find sub4sub's as annoying? Or do you just ignore it? Personally, I just ignored it at the start, but now it seems to be a lot. If someone leaves me a comment with "Nice video, (leaves me some wise criticism or feedback)" then asks me to check his channel, I am totally fine with it, but I really abhor the tactic of being kind to just ask for a sub. Maybe leave me any advice about this? Personally, if I ask someone to check out my channel, I do something for them before I do so. Like giving them appropriate, constructive feedback or any kind of help, and I never ask them to sub, just to check out my channel. Do you think this is appropriate?

I truly believe that my subs like my videos but, regarding the sub 4 sub comments I don't reply to them I just leave them there. I don't get a lot of those it's probably like 1 comment every couple videos but the rest of the comments actually watch the whole video and post comments stating their opinion or complimenting my work. I think that people will check your channel out when they want to and you asking them to won't do much

Sub for sub annoys me in any sense, I'd never be nice to someone just to try get something out of it so therefore if that happens to me then I just ignore it. I get it on Twitter all the time and they just stay unread DMs. If comment on a video or pay some a complement I genuinely mean it and don't use it as a marketing tactic.

Sub for sub works in they way your number gets bigger but the channel will never grow.

That's really a p**s off, I had that kind of a situation before, so I just ignored it. But today I felt like I had to respond.

I've yet to get a sub4sub comment on my channel but I find the whole concept annoying and pointless, so I can understand your annoyance.
When I get comments, I would like them to be honest, if they like it...let me know...same if they don't.

I do the same when I comment, my comments may not be deep or totally meaningful, but they always come from an honest place and I only comment if I have something I want to say and I would wish others to do the same to me.

The closest I've come to that is when I commented on another sim racer's video, who did like a diary-type series, I just commented that his series inspired me to do one of my own on my channel, and that was about it.

Just got a Sub 4 sub comment on my channel. Personally when I get one of these I just ignore them and just leave them to (if they do) subscribe and leave em be.

I have a few of these over my time on YouTube. It's a bad way to grow for sure. I tend to just ignore these comments although most of them get auto flagged anyways.

I do get such kind of stuffs while I am promoting my videos on Facebook. I really get annoyed, but finally I have learned to ignore them, whether they like my channel or not, I will just keep doing my work.

Looks like everyone shares the same tendency to ignore these people. I think those sub4sub fans should learn to stop doing it, as Youtube got wise to it, and other youtubers as well.

sub4sub from what I understand damages your average view time. If you have a bunch of people showing up and pasting `awesome video` or `liked and subscribed, please check out my channel` and leaving quickly to do the same to the next video then it damages the ranking of your videos as it suggests that your videos were so awful that they weren't worth watching.
