That is completely false. There is a chance that ContentID "might' not pick up audio under 7 seconds, but it is not fair use.

If you're not certain of something or can not link proof, it's best to not comment- especially in regards to copyright... something which can easily have someone lose their channel, income, or worse.

I wish YTTalk had a posting bot that would reply every time someone suggests there is an automatic fair use time limit with, "There is no exact time threshhold for fair use!" or "Fair use is a legal defense -- you can only determine it for certain in a court of law."

I'm curious where this recent surge of fair use time limit opinions are coming from. It makes me wonder if an article was recently put out somewhere that says that. I know it has always been a misconception, but in the past few days there seem to be more people saying that than normal.
