So my friend was making me a banner in photoshop and he use the dimensions but it still was off when it uploaded. any suggestions?

Use the correct measurement of banner.

If you upload the file maybe someone can help resize the image for you. Or if you have Photoshop/Gimp you can resize the image in there.

But sometimes it doesn't work. I had same problem myself and I found that you have to make it smaller. I do not remember the size, though.

You have to look in google for the smaller size that works.
