I'm a girl gamer! I play tons of console games like Assassins Creed (my fav) and I kind of want to do let's play on my channel but not as the sole focus. I currently have an rpg horror lets play on my channel perfect for Halloween.
I want to crush the idea that girl gamers can't be taken seriously because that's stupid it's 2016 girl gamers are really and are half of the gaming community anyway. It's just marketers tend to ignore that.
Let's crush the system!
Hell yeah! I agree 100 percent. I aim to do the same thing on my channel. Keep it up

I'm a transgender girl gamer, and often people get confused when my voice is male-sounding, but my AV is female and such.

The reason why a lot of gamers consider 'girl gamers' to be fake is because there is a large audience in the gaming world that are considered hardcore gamers. Watching girl gamers play super casual games with no substance is why they're often called fake. Not only are they not good at the game but also not funny. Often the only selling point is that it's a girl playing the game.
I've seen male gamers do videos where they are not funny, not that great at the game, and the video doesn't have much substance... but they don't get called fake.[DOUBLEPOST=1477272483][/DOUBLEPOST]
i love gaming i get CALLED FAKE ALLL THE TIME. it makes me laugh but i did make a video addressing it.
People need to get over that girls like us play video games, anyone can game i dont get people who think we can't game
Some people are stuck in the mindset that video games are for boys and dolls are for girls. It's 2016! Anyone can game who wants to wether they're male or female. I don't see any definition or a rulebook that states who can and cannot be a gamer.[DOUBLEPOST=1477272858][/DOUBLEPOST]
I looove playing video games, and have thought of trying to make gaming videos. My boyfriend usually suggests to me I should, especially since I live in Japan and there are a lot of game related ideas I could make videos about. I always thought it'd just be difficult to make them! And Expensive too, but I think girl gamers are awesome.
I just started my own gaming channel and I am figuring it out as I go. I don't have a lot of money, but there are a lot of free tools you can get online (which the good people of YTtalk have suggested to me). It is possible to make gaming videos on a budget. If you really want to make those kind of videos then I say go for it!

Theres a reason girl gamers are judged differently. It's because of the amount of attention whores or the ones that flash their a** / titts for views. Zoie Burgher is a really good example of this. She honestly makes me sick. I don't think all girl gamers are like that however. Theres some pretty good girl gamers out there that are better at gaming than guys. It's just a stereotype thing sadly and normally stereotypes are pretty ridiculous.
I agree, there are a lot of negative stereotypes out there. Hopefully people realize that the majority of girl gamers are NOT like that.[DOUBLEPOST=1477273151][/DOUBLEPOST]
I used to play quite a few online multi-player online games. At first, I used a noticeably feminine username. I wouldn't say people treated me badly, but they didn't really take me seriously. The day I decided to pick a gender-neutral username and hide my gender, literally everything changed. People were waaaaay more willing to let me help, gave me a lot more responsibilities, and I had soooo more fun playing. ^^
I've never played games for YouTube, but if the mindset of gamers is anything like what I experienced just by changing my username (and it's probably magnified with the addition of facecams), then I can imagine it's really hard for the lady-gamers out there.
Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of women who experience the same type of issue that you have. I've experienced it myself as well. But, I am not letting those kind of people bully me or scare me out of doing what I like to do. And I am going to continue on making gaming videos regardless.[DOUBLEPOST=1477273236][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'm a girl gamer and I have to say I'm grateful not to have experienced any of this...yet. However, it also may be due to the fact that I have a low voice so people mistake me for a guy. I enjoy horror games myself (which is a bit of a shock. I didn't really start playing horror games until I started doing YouTube). I haven't checked out your channel yet, but I just wanted to raise my hand and say "Girl Power!"
See ya later!
Yeah!!! Girl Power! haha. I love horror games, even though they scare the bejeezus out of me lol.
