Bit-rate question

I been playing around lately with setting for recording and uploading videos. Currently I am using 50mbs to record with, and about 20mb's to upload to YouTube. I upload in 1920x1080 resolution 60fps. I read on YouTube the recommend for uploading is 12mb's but that seems like it wouldn't be big enough without loss. So just wondering what everyone else like to use for recording and uploading, and am I using to much.

I don't think those are recommended settings, I'm pretty sure when you upload to youtube that's the bitrate that they put it at. They recommend that you upload it to youtube at that bitrate so that it doesn't have to condense it. I could be wrong, but I did a bit of research on bitrate a while ago and that was my takeaway. I record at 50mbs as well, but i upload to youtube at 1080p 30 frames at 8mbs.

I thought the recommended nitrate was 5mbps I remember searching what bitrate for YouTube and found a Google llink
