being a big youtuber

Well with him he seems partnered with pewdiepie who i cant stand. pewdiepie audience is for kids, he acts crazy and goofy. nothing wrong with it. there is only one youtuber who i truely hate and cant stand a min of and thats toby. he treated people i knew at comic con with disrespect and hate. hes not to kind to his fans.
Him and Pewds are in the same network (Polaris) so it was likely to happen. :)
I can agree with you I'm not a fan of Toby at all, it's mostly the fanbase for these youtubers I can't stand.
A youtuber can be hilarious and talented ,but , Their fanbase can be bloody horrible any hate and they will insult them back. Immature is all I can say to the big youtubers fanbases I watch Pewds and Mark but I don't dare look at the comments because all it'll do is make me annoyed and think 'why do I want to watch these guys when their fanbase is so horrible :L'

There's really no set time period. It could take anywhere from 1 year, to 5 years. Or, it could just never happen at all for some people (Depressing downer Anthony). But... Don't give up. If you're confident in your work, and promote well, you could see some serious momentum within a years time.

I wonder how many subs does it generally take for someone to consider it enough to be a full time job?

how long does it take to become one of the youtubers that you can be talked about in schools and jobs and such. I was told it could take up to 3 years.

I think it all depends on how fast you get recognized. Like I've seen people take forever to get 30k subs but once they have those 30k subs they skyrocket in subs afterwards. Its more about making a basis of content first to get initially started. After that it seems to be smoothe sailing.[DOUBLEPOST=1389210039,1389209938][/DOUBLEPOST]

I would think at least over 100k for that. If you go to the socialblade website and look up youtube stats majority of people with 100k+ subs make an average of 1k a month off of youtube.

it's not how long it's about how much subscribers you get to be talked about. i'd say a little under 10,000 subscribers. there are many subscribers that I used to talk about when they had that much subscribers

There's no set formula or guarantees. Some people like Jenna Marbles only took a year or 2 while others took 5-6 years.

I've been at it for nearly 3 years and while I'm not big, I'm at least much bigger than I was 3 years ago.

It's quite different for all people and content, from your avatar i assume you're posting Minecraft content. That's a huge category to be putting yourself into, so try very hard to form friendships and work with other youtubers your size :)

Good luck!
