BBTV Partnership Review?

I'm going to take a guess that the deal is 60/40 for 2 years? That is the standard agreement for BroadBandTV/TGN, I wouldn't suggest signing it. My advice, ever sign something over 1 year - as online video changes so much, you don't want to be tied down for 2+ years.

Secondly, if you want to go to BroadBandTV either way (and have your heart set on it) - it could be worth trying one of their newest networks, SocialBlade. Base revenue share is 70%-80% and a 30 day trial, then a 1 year term. In my opinion, that is a decent offer. But of course, it is up to you.

I wouldn't bother partnering for that revenue share, what are they going to do for you that you need from them to take 40% each month? Creative Nation have a 90/10 revenue share which is a lot fairer if you need a network. The percentages soon add up as your channel grows.
Yeah true, cheers mate I'll have a look at Creative Nation :).

That is better than direct with them but he could get more of his revenue elsewhere unless they have specific features he is after that CN or Curse dont have. I wouldnt sign for a year, these days 30 day rolling contracts are the way to go.

Indeed, just was throwing it out there. Found it quite interesting that SocialBlade is seemingly the only network with BroadBand that offers better agreements versus what'd you get at TGN, VISO, or directly with them. Heh, the more you know.

They must have refused a standard share for their partners, I know if I was to have a network of my own under a larger network I couldnt allow it to take more than 10% unless I was offering some real value to all partners.

Cheers guys for the help, I appreciate it! Also, the guy at BroadBandTV who emailed me said that it would be a No-Lock contract but I'm not sure if I'll go with there partnership.

SocialBlade has a large base and probably had more talking power with BroadBand. They're probably the only network in BBTV worth looking at, if you really want to go to BBTV (just not direct). As you said, there's much better offers than what BBTV can offer. The SocialBlade referral RPM days are over. :p

I would keep in mind that 40% now could be say £40 off £100 or £4 off £10 which doesn't seem all too much at first off what you earn but say you were making £1000 a month that is £400 and for nothing in return. As your money grows the more you would be paying to them.

Remember a network isn't necessary, double check what they are going to be giving you for your money, and make sure you will NEED it. Beware that in some cases the music and sound effects you get if you leave the network can cause copyright claims to pop up on multiple videos of yours for the music back. (I have only heard of this word of mouth, but it's worth thinking about)
