Anybody heard of Scale lab network?

I created an account here just to say that I got a third party notice from them and some group simply called "Collective" on one of my videos at the exact same time, in the exact same part of the video, that has absolutely nothing to do with them at all. Shady...

(The video is footage of a game, Battlefield 4, and the camera is pointed at the ocean. How can I get a "visual content" third party notice for looking at water? They are not even related to the publisher, EA)

I have the same problem with them. They flagged the visual content of my video (Zelda Walkthrough). Who they think they are? They absolutely have NO RIGHTS to do this to anyone's videos.
Poe, what did you do about it? Did you open a dispute or what? I need some advice to deal with this sh*t "network".

DO NOT join their junk network, let them break.

Are you referring to Collective or ScaleLabs? If it's Collective, just go to collectivedigitalstudio(dot)com and use the contact us button. Also you could dispute the claim and they might back off.

I am referring to Scale Labs. My two recent videos got the "Matched third party content." and both have
"Visual content administered by Scale Lab" which is clearly not a legit claim and as far as I know ONLY Nintendo has the rights to claim my videos.
Since Scale Labs is not the copyright holder, what option should I pick to open a dispute?
(This is kinda off-topic, could we talk in private messages?)

I'd ask them to remove it (scalelab(dot)com/contact-2/) but if they don't I would go ahead and dispute it.

Also I wouldn't make Nintendo videos because they tend to claim any and all gameplay footage.

I encourage anyone contacted by Scale Lab to at least go as far as getting the contract from them and reading it, if just to familiarize yourself with what these sorts of companies are asking for. If you don't think it's a good deal, re-write the contract to your liking and send it back. You've got nothing to lose by making the contract more favorable to you.

Most video contests and aggregators will have similar contracts, and it's a good idea to read them closely. Be careful of anything that's claiming universal and perpetual rights just for submitting; Fox had a reality show a few years back for directors, and they claimed rights to submitted videos and any derivatives!

I don't want to go too far off topic by getting into details. I just want to say I got a similar email from Scale Labs, and find it disturbing that my name and website turn up more relevant hits in a search than Scale Lab. :-\

I've had so many PMs on YouTube begging me to join ScaleLab and I have got back to them so often to say no, I am thinking of flagging them as spam... there: 'Don't make me angry...!'

I have also had two Content ID claims by them on gameplay videos that they certainly do not own any rights to at all. It seems like in addition to firing off automatically generated requests to join their network, they also claim videos in the hopes that people don't dispute the claim. What I did was dispute, of course. The first was on a Fallout 3 video, and the claim disappeared after disputing, the second is pending (on a Diablo 3 video), but I assume it will go away as well. Since both developers allow LP-style videos, I just disputed saying I had written permission, and linked the the website where the publisher allows it. How they abuse the Content ID system I have no idea, but if you accept the claim they basically get money for your video. Which is a bit silly, because if I'm lucky I get ten views on a video. I believe especially smaller channels would rather accept the claim because it looks "official" though, and the video can still be seen, after all.

All in all, it doesn't seem like a trustworthy company. Unless these Content ID claims are accidental, but I highly doubt that. Also, I send them three e-mails (spaced two weeks apart) about why they claimed the videos, and got no response. This to my mind also points at it being an intentional way to gather money from other peoples' videos.

After reading other peoples' experiences and after reading over their contract, I rescind my previous suggestions. Seems like a waste of time, and a rather obvious ploy, as tofukanone elaborated.

Huh, I'm late to the party. I was intrigued at first because they mentioned my genre AND had a phone number. I normally don't reply, but here is my response:

"Hi Lori,

Good morning. I am intrigued by your offer. Do you have any hunting channels that are in your network that I can take a look at? Do you feel that I could message some of these channels and get their thoughts on ScaleLab?

I am looking for a network that can show me how to they are going to grow my channel and revenues. Do you have a list of sponsors in the outdoors community to which you've sold ads?

Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

LT"

That should shut them up.
