$8 a Month for Ad Free Youtube

This might be bad... With people using Adblock (Which I highly suggest no one to use Adblock... Sites like youtube are free for a reason... Ads) So this might hurt people trying to make a living off youtube.

So people are going to pay for a service that is also offered for free by the same company. Well I have no problem with youtube adding another revenue stream, happy to hear it in fact. Though I doubt any rev will be passed onto content creators, I also don't think that the monetary impact on ads is going to be noticeable as I doubt many people will use this service

I'm pretty sure not many people will be doing this with a block out there, also what will it mean for us creators of many people do pay for this monthly thing???

Since adblock is easily available, I don't think anyone will use this.

Hmm I don't think it will take off.. why would you pay for something thats been free.. to get rid of Ads that are 30 seconds long.

Since adblock is easily available, I don't think anyone will use this.

Unfortunately, that's just sort of like saying "since people pirate music, no one will use Spotify". It's excusing causing YT and creators a loss of revenue.

Personally, I think this is a fine step. Chances are I'll pay.

Though I doubt any rev will be passed onto content creators

I am 100% positive the revenue will be passed onto content creators. Otherwise this would be a HUGE scandal. Content creators are paid BY the ads, so if the subscription model didn't pass any money to channel owners then what they'd be doing is offering people to pay YouTube directly while stopping the channels from getting money they otherwise would. Every big channel would revolt, they'd be begging viewers NOT to pay for a monthly subscription. It would be SUICIDE from YouTube's perspective.
