$8 a Month for Ad Free Youtube

I really don't mind ads, when I see one on a video it just reminds me that I'm supporting the creators that I love to watch. I'd rather save the $96 and watch the ads!

Waste of money. Why pay when you can just use Adblock Plus for free?

Also on the ads: Give variation or I will get very bored of seeing the same ad for the umpteenth time. Bring back 10-15 second ads too!

No thanks! I use Adblock but I turn it off for some sites, YouTube & Twitch to name a few :) I don't mind ads that much, I've come to kind of ignore them on YouTube :P

I don't think this will be a very popular thing that everyone will go out and get. But if it does pick up then content creators will have dig deeper for sponsoships

I'm gonna be honest. The fact that anyone on this forum uses AdBlock infuriates me.

This is a site about promoting and helping to support YouTubers, and here you are advocating software that robs them of income. It's a sad state of affairs when watching an ad for a few seconds, which actually helps these people make a living doing the very thing you're watching them do, is so difficult that you have to install software to block it. You might as well ask why you'd bother buying albums and movies when BitTorrent is free?

I have few "rules" in my life, but a big one is "what would happen if everyone did what I'm doing?" In this case, what would happen if everyone went "oh I'll just install Adblock"? The answer: either the concept of a "professional YouTuber" would vanish and ALL content would revert to being lower-quality done by people who still have to work another full time job, OR YouTube would simply remove ads in favor of a paywall ENTIRELY.

Ads KEEP YOUTUBE ALIVE. They're not spam, they're not there to intrude upon your life. Without them, there is no YouTube, and with that everyone's dream of doing YouTube full time evaporates.

Good job.

I use Adblock too, I've already said I'd most probably be willing to pay a subscription if the content creators get money out of it. If the price is right that is.

[Wall of text]

When you're on an extremely limited monthly budget (Under 1K USD) and living in one of the most expensive regions in the US, I don't have time to do subscription stuff on something as paltry as a video website. I need that money for bills, rent and food, not Youtube or other premium services online.

As harsh as it sounds, I simply need the money for other things.

Completely agree, man.

Don't they know YTTalk runs on ads as well?

I have a feeling YouTube/google can block the adblockers anytime they want. I've thought that for a long time. I might be wrong but it's a feeling I had. Some will pay, some won't. We'll just have to see how everything shakes out.
