Brandon,

thank you very much for this post. Is is one of the most informative things i have read in the last month since I started my channel First few months are the hardest! Really like your channel set up, subscribed. interesting concept and content. Go aussie accent!

All that text and you simply forget the most important thing of all: Don't expect all that work to make you a winner, some people just don't have it. Be realistic in your expectations and you can have the best hobby in the world. Only a select few will ascend to numerical awesomeness, but everyone has the capability to ascend to personal awesomeness.

ive got to say man this may be the best youtube guide ive ever seen. i love how you really broke everything down, people always say in guides to optimize your videos but never explain how you actually go about doing that not to mention you literally had an example for every section definitely got a lot from this guide. insanely good work 10/10

Most of the tips are really great and I already use a lot of them. The only one that you should ABSOLUTELY NOT use is:

This does not help your channel and Youtube can actually tell when you are using other tags that include other channel names or users.

Other than that though, great guide :)

Our thoughts exactly.
Great post and advice but would not recommend using other channels names as tags - you will lose points in the algo.

This has got to be one of the best guides I've seen! :thumbsup2:

Just one thing, YouTube doesn't really care about tags anymore, they put much more weight on the keywords in the title and description.

And a tip regarding autocomplete: the website keywordtool.io (YouTube tab!) compiles all the autocomplete results, not just for the exact term but additional letters, numbers and words used in questions.

Great additional tips. Thank you so much :)

You're welcome. I checked out your channel - I can see potential in your channel, and the work you've put into your descriptions and channel art - great job! Based on your type of content, I feel there's a chance one of these could take-off on Reddit. Also worth researching similar channels to see where their audience is coming from, and then finding a way to put your content in front of them :)[DOUBLEPOST=1462551773,1462551717][/DOUBLEPOST]

Turns out I've learnt something from you guys as well! I've tried multiple times to update the article but I keep getting an error message. Any admins here know why?
