What does it take to be a SUCCESSFUL YouTuber?

So, what I've been doing is make the title of my video correct for what it is. If there is a popular alternative way of writing it, I'll refer to the video by that in the description. I have a handful of sentences at the bottom of each description that contains all the keywords I can think of, while still sounding like proper sentences.

For the tags, I have several that put in automatically: horror version, horror version 2.0, terror version, scary version, demonic version, evil version, creepy version, nightmare fuel, in g major. Then I put in ones that are specific to the video. I do this by putting in the name of the song or artist in a YouTube search field, then typing "a" and seeing what the top auto-complete results are. If any of them are something I think pertains to my video, I'll add in the whole string as a tag. Same with "b", "c", etc. For certain letters, like c, d, e, and g, I type more such as "cree" or "dem" to see if there are any popular searches for any of the default tags I have.

So, for one of my most recent videos, the title is Pokémon Intro (Horror Version 2.0)

Description:
I take requests! Please watch until the end and leave your idea in the comments.

With all this Pokemon Go nonsense, I had to do the original Pokemon opening theme song. Thank you, Im a fricken SHE-Bird, for the request!

Evil YTP parody video made in demonic "G Major" in a creepy studio to ruin your childhood. Scary version to cause terror and nightmare fuel.

Some of this may be hurting my video's performance, but from trial and error and from what I've read, it's the best I've come up with so far. Do I have the wrong idea about any of it?

Yes love there is a LOT that is incredibly wrong.

There was a better way to optimize the title.
I have to check the video to see if there was anything done wrong before or during
The description was done wrong and isn't optimized the best way for the spiders to crawl properly and rank you in search easily and instantly and keep you there.
there are entirely too many tags, your choices are horrible (please don't take this offensive I just want you to understand the level of error), and they are done wrong as well.

Remember you want to optimize before, during, and after and your after needs a lot of work love because it's incredibly wrong.

This makes me sad at the prospect that I have so much wrong (my ego) but makes me excited at the potential for improvement. I'll see if I can learn anything from looking at your videos.

you can try and use google keywords to better title your videos and I need to make a post like this cos I know I cann improve so much everthing on my channel is very mediocre[DOUBLEPOST=1471516050,1471515910][/DOUBLEPOST]
Well success on youtube involves quite a bit of luck as well. Sometimes you may be doing great and have great content but not be famous or recognized other cases you may be famous for the most stupid of reasons... But in the end there is no secret or ultimate formula to be successful on youtube...
100% true look at funny me now he tortures himself and is famous and grade a use his phone mic so there that

I disagree 100% there is NO luck involved. Except for the people who genuinely don't plan their Viral video and it just happens <--- that's luck

There is no such thing as doing great, having great content and not being recognized.

The magic formula isn't secret. It's called Hardwork, dedication, and making every video better than your last in every way, shape, form and fashion.

^ I don't know 1 person doing that who isn't successful, if you do, please show me their channel. I'd love to find that unicorn.
I know it's an old post but I totally agree. The key to success is SEO. You have to optimize your video's title, description and tags to get better SEO and you have to do it a lot. Not just 1 or 2 videos, you have to do it for months or even longer because thats how you rank better in the search engine. If you use certain words in tags, descriptions and titles for a long time you will start to get better rankings when people search for those words because youtube see's that you have a lot of videos on that topic. That's the key to long term success.

Well, I've pretty much cornered the "horror version" search term at least. If you search for that on YouTube, all the videos on the first page and most of the ones on the second are mine. Too bad it's not a higher volume search term.

That "One minute economics" guy? I could turn him into a BEAST on YouTube and make him the top in his niche at minimum.

These guys may not want any advice but I'm open to help

If I send you a pm could you tell me why one of my competitors is killing me on daily views even though his videos are just plain crap?

Keli, I agree with you that hard work and knowledge trumps all. As a newbie, I'm focusing on SEO and editing. I try to get better and better with each video and know that eventually, I'll reach that tipping point where things really start clicking.
