Tags / Keywords - Using Tubebuddy's Tag Explorer Feature

Very nice guide, thank you for that. But now for a small noob question, does the more tags mean the more chance of people finding your videos? Or does that actually work the other way around? I usually use 10 or more tags on my videos. Should I remove some of the less relevant ones?

Tags are to help you be found in search results. You only want to put relevant tags. Too many tags can be harmful because it means each individual one is less important. It's been said the optimal number is 10 to 20 tags max.

Thank you so much man! :)
Of course!

Think of it this way by taking the two extremes.

If you had over 1000 tags on a video, how important do you think each one would really be? Kind of oversaturated right?
If you had 0 tags on a video, do you think anyone would find it?

With YouTube's limit of tags, we can say from 10-20 would be ideal as it keeps them relevant, important, and weighted.

Yeah I kinda figured that as well, but sometimes I get like 15 very relevant tags. And that's why I wondered, would that be too much? But I guess there are just videos out there that need this many and that should be just fine :)

Thanks again :D

Hi! This looks like a great tool, but when I went to install it there's a part that I'm weary of clicking. It wants permissions to "Manage your YouTube account". That sounds kinda dodgy to me, what exactly am I handing over to them if I accept this stuff?

Hey @GoodGameFells, Phil here from TubeBuddy. Believe it or not, "Manage your YouTube Account" is just about the smallest amount of permissions we can ask for. Other products like TubularLabs and Epoxy want access to manage your channel, access to your YouTube CMS, access to your Google+ data/cirlces/posts, your YouTube Analytics, and more. BUT - I can tell you something that I realized after we started building a browser extension - any permissions that a product asks for though the authentication process is minimal compared to what a malicious company could do through a browser extension in general. So what it comes down to is - only install browser extensions from people you trust. Our product is used and trusted by thousands of YouTubers including very big names. And I am a co-founder of the product and I'm here telling you that we don't do anything 'bad' - we only offer great tools that help YouTubers and I hope you give it a try!

More info here and let me know if you have any questions.
