I always record with a headset mic. I used to use a Turtle Beach px12 or somethiong like that and it worked really nicely , now I am using the microphone from my Razor Kraken Pro.
 
Just as a general observation: although headset mics can suffice, they're really, really not what anyone would call an optimal setup. Even budget USB mics are gonna be what you'll want over that.
 
Testing out the AKG C214 as well. It's got a really "airy" sound, but I'm not sure if I'll rank it above the Blue Baby Bottle.
 
My first and current mic is the Samsung Meteor. If anything it's a mic that taught me that the mic is not the only thing that matters. Your environment and post processing helps a lot (although I am still very new to microphones and equalising) One day I'll upgrade when I can afford it. I also literally have a stocking pulled over my microphone as the pop filter. And it's quite a cheap (relatively) option. Unfortunately I have never had another mic so can't make any other comments!
