Just received 3rd strike, channel about to be shut down... question

You should contact youtube support and ask them. If you're lucky, maybe they do have a small time frame where they keep your account data and reinstate it once the counter notifications are cleared. But you really should contact youtube and ask and be sure you can provide some sort of proof that Sony agreed to retract the strikes.

Is there any particular reason so many people in this thread decided to be intentionally derisive and insulting? Any reason why the moderating staff is not attempting to keep the insults out and thread on topic?
I don't think that anyone's being insulting honestly. It's the harsh truth he has to accept. I honestly don't think that we can actually do anything for him now that he's on his last strike.

I tried to avoid singling out. The take away message from this thread is that nobody knows anything about the OP situation, can't help him in any way but felt the need to toss their "sorry you're out of luck" with varying degrees of venom. A good portion didn't even appear to read the thread but posted based on the title instead.

To the OP, you have an upward battle ahead of you. The date stamped emails providing information should be sufficient, simply because youtube isn't going to review your specific case within the 7 days they give you to provide the required information. Shane has a point that it should be faster through the content id cms, so it may be worthwhile to contact the individual at Sony again.

Thank you, my friend - thanks for not lashing out and understanding my situation and understanding what I said in the original post. Thanks for the advice!

The real question is what were the 1st 2 Strikes for? Audio matching? Video? Pictures?
Because lets say they accidentally copyrighted a Photo(s) for the first 2 Strikes, if you got CC'd for 2 Photos, then why in the heck would you upload a 3rd Video with Photography that Sony may have "Accidentally" claimed.

But like Shane said, it only takes a few minutes to Remove a Copyright Claim, I can attest to this when Machinima tried to mark one of my Videos as theirs and it literally took maybe 2 Hours from the time I found out about it to get it resolved and get the Strike Removed.

So wondering minds want to know, what were the first 2 Strikes for?

First 2 strikes were for gameplay videos, while the 3rd one was for images.

@OP, if your account is terminated and a retraction or counter-notification is completed your account will be reinstated within a couple of hours of completion. Now that you've already submitted counter-notifications you will have to wait. You cannot contact YouTube about the issue as others have said - this information is highly documented in the Help Centre

I'm curious over what pictures were posted in the vids that Sony had such a problem with. I kinda think it's stupid and going too far. Eventually we're gonna start having copyright strikes just because we're wearing a Batman shirt and we don't own Batman. It's ridiculous. I mean, some of the people telling you 'you shouldn't have posted copyrighted content in the first place' have gaming channels of games they obviously don't own.

However, dude, I do understand that Sony was in the process of removing those 2 strikes... but you jumped the gun. Why didn't you wait until those strikes were completely removed before risking posting more videos with similar photos? If I ever had 2 strikes I'd put my game reviews on hiatus until they were resolved.

I didn't remove the copyright content because I would have no option to counter them if I needed to, which was today, incidentally. I was waiting for Sony's retraction to get processed, per what they told me.

Deleting videos which have been striked does not remove the strike.

yes it does.......well at least it did when I got a strike from Activision.
