Just received 3rd strike, channel about to be shut down... question

I didn't knowingly post content that I knew would get me a 3rd strike.

I had posted the video because it had contained images, not any footage, and didn't know it could be copyrighted. I didn't upload it with the intention to shut down my own channel.
That doesn't explain why you didn't remove the copyrighted contect after the 2nd strike. Sorry mate but your doomed...

Is there any particular reason so many people in this thread decided to be intentionally derisive and insulting? Any reason why the moderating staff is not attempting to keep the insults out and thread on topic?

Yes, they did strike me as they thought I infringed their copyright. But after showing them that I didn't infringe, they agreed to retract through email contact with them.
That doesn`t make any sense... You can remove a strike/claim from their CMS in a few minutes it doesn`t take days :p

We arn't being insulting. We are simply pointing out that this person has caused the issue themselves. I get your point though

I didn't remove the copyright content because I would have no option to counter them if I needed to, which was today, incidentally. I was waiting for Sony's retraction to get processed, per what they told me.

Deleting videos which have been striked does not remove the strike.

I tried to avoid singling out. The take away message from this thread is that nobody knows anything about the OP situation, can't help him in any way but felt the need to toss their "sorry you're out of luck" with varying degrees of venom. A good portion didn't even appear to read the thread but posted based on the title instead.

To the OP, you have an upward battle ahead of you. The date stamped emails providing information should be sufficient, simply because youtube isn't going to review your specific case within the 7 days they give you to provide the required information. Shane has a point that it should be faster through the content id cms, so it may be worthwhile to contact the individual at Sony again.
