I'll review your Videos!!!!!!

I agree with Michael, I feel a lot more comfortable sitting down than standing up for some reason. I guess practice will make perfect hopefully.

Can you review my channel? I know my lighting isn't great (I don't see how it's so effortless for some, maybe I need to invest in better lighting), but if you could tell what you think about the content, and your opinion on my overall channel.

Thanks for the great in depth review there, I will look into adding the URL on the background as that is definitely the most important missing thing/change needed.

I have tried standing up but when I am standing up I just cant stay still, my first recording was done standing up and I was constantly bobbing around :D I think I should practice stood up and not moving anywhere near as much. I didnt have a script for the Q and A videos, I had the questions written down but I see what you're saying there and I didn't even notice I was doing that, I should watch out for that :D I definitely do feel more confident when stood up, I dont know why exactly but in my very first recording other than the head bobbing I felt better. I think I am more confident just recording via microphone because I know no one can see me.

That'll be a well deserved cuppa!

Thanks again :)
No problem :D

Well I'll do the free option for now, since I don't have enough to view!,

I'm reviewing just your 'Burn the City App Review' because I already did the 'Kick the Boss App Review' the other day :)
So, first things first is that the screen is showing up really clearly the way in which you have set it out; the dark background really helps the screen to show up at a much higher quality than if it were in daytime/lights on. Also, I think that you have really covered the points well, you tell the audience exactly the things that they want to know before getting an app especially about pricing and content of the game. (I've gotta question though: how come you've got 5 apps in the bar at the bottom of the page? I was like wtf?!?!? lol)

Something I can't tell exactly from the video is whether you are holding the apple device or whether it is layed flat on the ground. I have a few suggestions to stop the shaking you can see: 1. You can put the camera on a stand and rest the apple device on the floor
2. If you don't have a stand then you could always rest the filming device on an upright object and the apple device against a wall (slightly higher up maybe?)
3. Or you can just test out ways that you can have a steadier hand with filming (Its difficult though and I find it hard myself - a stand is always your best bet)

Something else that I would quite like to see in your video is an intro with some nice music added to it - could be a short song saying 'App Reviews' or just some dramatic music - this intro I think should have the image that you use for the Thumbnail on it... And then I also think that maybe you should be putting a short bit at the end of the video linking to the previous video?

Review done :)

Thanks for the review, The dark background + light screen, is because I focus my camera on the screen which then makes the background darker, so I thought why not film in a little darker room, and that's what I now do!, I have five icons in my dock becuase my iphone is jailbroken. I am indeed holding my iphone but not the camera (the camera is an ipad 2 with a smart cover to support it!). Soon I will be looking into making a intro + outro for my videos!,

Thanks again for the review!

Channel Review:

Righto then,
I like the feel of your channel Stefan, I just feel that it has a very subtle feeling overall, that makes you come across as a very genuine person not trying to 'big themselves up' too much. Great use of colours on the page; they go really well together; and a very nice idea to put a picture of yourself at the right hand side of the page.
There are a couple of things that I'd like to point out to you though. One is the fact that on the right hand side of your channel, there seems to be a random cutoff point where the picture of you stops (here's a more obvious picture where you can see):
Screen Shot 2012-04-28 at 15.24.41.png

I would recommend that when you edit your background, make sure that you make it wider than you think that you need to, that way you wont get a random cut-off at the side. Something else that I'd point out is that I think maybe you should add some more of that 'splattered' effect to the 'Comment, Rate, Subscribe' writing on the left. Another thing that is also useful when it comes to drawing peoples' attention towards your videos is making the background slightly faded/adding highlights around the edge of the main body of the youtube page (where the videos are situated) - make it slightly darker around here and it will make peoples' eyes be drawn more towards the videos :D I also recommend about putting your twitter name around the edge on your channel background because that way you'll get more active subscribers who keep up to date with your new videos.
Apart from that, there is not too much else to be said about your channel design. Good Job :)

Your overall video reviews will be coming soon :D

So heres like an overall look at all of your videos Stef:

The Wanted - Chasing the Sun Single Review: I felt that I liked the way your produced this video, it being outside and everything make it feel like a 'real' vlog. Well done on getting that across because not many vloggers are able to do that these days. Couple of things that I'd say to improve your outdoor filming: 1. Since your holding the camera in front of you, as much as it is rather tiring to do this, try to keep your arm straight because when your arm is locked/tensed in that position, you'll find that it reduces shaking and keeps your vlogs nice and flowing well. Another thing that you need to make sure you keep an eye on it making outdoor vlogs is where the sun is (especially in sunny conditions like this particular one). You need to make sure that you are facing the sun because that way you don't get glare on the camera lens (which can be rather distracting when watching) - an example of this lens flare (as its' called in the business lol) is at [1 min 38s].

The Wanted v One Direction: Doing videos about music and album seems to be your 'niche' Stefan. You should make this a strong series on your channel because you seem to be really good at producing strong reviews and opinions about music. Something I would say for this specific video is that you are showing two wall in it. Try to angle the camera so that it is against a flat surface, rather than against two contrasting walls. Another thing to recommend is about having the light source located slightly higher up because then the shadow cast behind you will be slightly less noticeable.
I noticed this about another video that you film against a blue wall is that you tend to be wearing dark clothing. Generally something good to do when filming against a much darker background is to wear slightly lighter clothes (but make sure that you keep your individual style; and then if you are filming against a lighter background, try to wear slightly darker clothes. In both of these methods it means that you show up slightly better against the camera.

Overall looking at your videos (I wont bother going back to your first few because they are irrelevant with the vast improvements that you have made to your video quality in recent weeks) is that you need to make sure you keep a couple of really good series with great content running on your channel – I think that 'Ask Stefan' and 'Music Reviews' would work best.

Well done man :D keep up your great videos :)
