That angry smiley was me freaking out about surgery lol

Funny you mention that. I woke up this morning to an inbox full of new subscriber videos, comments and subscription notices. I did go in and hit some buttons in notification settings so I'm not sure if that's why they are all back or YouTube fixed up the problem.

Apparently YouTube said they are phasing that notification bell out and its by intention :(

So if it does work, its not going to be every time until it slowly goes away :(

@motomadness I just added some effective compound keywords and deleted the duds for one of my videos. Definitely using your strategy for the rest of my videos and new uploads. When did you start seeing a change? A month?

It's hard to say as I have only been studying the analytics the past week but 90% of my views from the YouTube search bar are the result of Long Tail's. I spent last week going through all the videos, choosing the best rated tags and there has been a noticeable increase in views the last couple of days, but will have to give it a bit longer before I can figure out if it's from the choice of tags or not.

Quick note, make sure to ctrl+shift+p (in firefox) to enable private browsing, or the equivalent setting in other browsers in order to get youtube search terms that ARE NOT tailored specifically to you.
