I always reply to comments. That's how I connect to the audience and how the audience connects with me! That's partly why comments exist imo.

The YouTube Comments Section should be seen as less of a "boring extra" to YouTube, and more of a way to engage fans. Big YouTubers hardly ever respond to comments - you should learn from their mistakes, and instead of, as they often do, upload a video and respond to the comments that flood in moments later, stage it out. Perhaps even make a schedule? On a Saturday, you could film a video, Sunday you could edit and then Monday from 4-5pm you could aim to respond to comments from your fans

We put hours into managing and responding to comments daily. It can get overwhelming if we get behind. I can see where the biggest YouTubers might get to the point where they have to decide whether to keep up with comments or just make videos. But I can't see us ever quitting responding entirely.
