Have you considered just using Adsense?

Come on guys there's no need to accuse each other of trolling, I dont think any of you are trolling here, you're all free to post your differences etc but bickering over it isnt going to help :) You're all entitled to post what you think is correct and debate it without any of that.
We tried using common sense, but the OP wants none of that haha. Oh well.

Michaels right. I'm done bickering. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, that's something I've always stuck by. See you around the forums Freebie!

Yeah, i'll apologize for the personal attacks.. KGATV you have a great channel and I mean no disrespect!

I've spent days, weeks, months, reading up copyright information and it's a sensitive topic for me I guess.. I was so misinformed a few months ago and now that i've read the actual codified law and spoken with "experts" it's blown me away at how vague the whole "fair use" exception? really is.

My only advice would be for those who decide to join networks is to do thorough research before signing your adsense away. Many do it for different reasons and usually its a personal preference, but if its purely for earnings, I think that being independent is way more rewarding in that retrospect.
Most people I've known in my genre who joined networks are either not happy or waiting to get out of their contracts because they didn't negotiate or look into what they were signing their soul away for. Other than that, I still think that there are networks who are willing to go the extra mile with individual content creators.

Absolutely, well said!

I've missed the prime time to reply to this :p But.. I have to agree with Freebie. If you scroll down to Common misunderstandings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use and read the very last one 'If you're selling for profit, it's not fair use.' followed by,

While commercial copying for profit work may make it harder to qualify as fair use, it does not make it impossible.

And yeah with the whole copyright strikes/DMCA filings, you are just as prone to copyright strikes for gaming videos even if you're with a Network with appropriate licences. However, you do, have the ground to file a counter-notification because you have the legal right on behalf of the Network and you'll get it removed in 2 weeks. You do have the ground as well if you're with YouTube directly but fighting fair use to the copyright holder may be harder to win.
