Going from Monetization to Partnership

It's unlear to me, I have no idea what's going on, plus my twitter is going mad about this! (I follow a lot of Youtubers)

I hope they sort it out soon, luckily I aint monetising at present but this will affect me in the future.

nothing on youtube will "resolve" itself unfortunately they are trying to implement so many new things that they are breaking the old things. They needs to slow down just a little

I don't have time to read through the discussion, so sorry if it's already been said, but here's what's going on. You can no longer apply for the youtube partnership program; it's essentially invite-only, but not quite. If you have ads on at least one video, you are a "partner". However, you do not have any of the features, such as thumbnails, banners, or published upload times. YouTube will track your accounts, and may offer these to you at some point. One day, you may get an email saying that you can now put up a banner. It's stupid, but I believe that this is how YouTube is doing things from now on.

I think you need one video which is monetized, then you can become a full time partner....not sure...

As I said, having a monetized video makes you a "partner", but that title is meaningless because it no longer comes with any features; you are a partner in name alone. YouTube may eventually decide to offer you extra features along the way, but we longer have any control over it. You can't apply for them, as we once were able to do.

No no no....I mean you need 1 monetized video, then you can become a partner....

To become a YouTube Partner and access promotional and skill-building opportunities, you must have at least one video approved for monetization.

That is literally what I just said. Yeah, you "become a partner". As I said though, being a partner literally means NOTHING anymore, because you don't automatically get the features. Now youtube will just give you the features whenever they feel like it. It is impossible to apply for a partnership where you automatically get all of the partner features at once, unless you join up with a network.
