Common issues that keep you under 1,000 subscribers

Haha hey man! I have been doing a long time I dont push hard enough I dont spend enought time on my dream.. I cant just stop !

Great read, I think another problem is that even with meta tags, creative (you think is creative) titles/descriptions and decent or good content people can't find you. It's sorta like even the more popular channels are doing this and doesn't give the new people a chance to get started. Anyone else think this?

I disagree. Great content has a way of surfacing on YouTube. It happens every day. It's just that many creators think their content is good and deserving of eyeballs when it's really just not good enough yet or valuable enough to someone yet. When someone is positioning their videos perfectly on YouTube with titles, thumbnails, etc. and still not gaining traction the content itself is usually the culprit.

I think you need to find a little more Naruto in yourself. Believe it! Give it your best and make it happen, no matter the odds :).

I only just started so i guess I shouldn't of said that, it was just a feeling at first. I will just have to work twice as hard and keep consistency.

Haha yeah i truly need to stick to those words :)

hmm this is all very good advice. I'm super new but have been attending youtube events and brainstorming all the potential ways I can add value to an audience members life. Something to ask is how can YOU and only you provide a unique solution to an everyday problem? The first youtube videos I watched in 2006 were not videos that solely provided entertainment. They were answers to questions only a video could solve. How do I clean a make up brush? How do I mail a letter (I was 17 in '06 lol) ? How do you pronounce a specific word. etc. So maybe start there?

Great advice throughout this thread. I've been doing YT about 3/4 months now and i'm picking up on areas that need improvement (it can't be nailed down to 1 thing in-particular)
Interaction, presence in the community, content, branding are all essential. I'd also say it pays just as much if not more to be an active viewer of other's content, as it is to be a creator of your own.

This is a really helpful article. Sadly I've been doing YouTube since 2011, and I am just coming out of 1900 subs. I am still enjoying it though, and it's been really a part of my life to record videos, but I am probably going to stay away from Let's play videos and instead focus on making reviews and top 5s, though I might still play games while recording. xD

Yeah, a combination on several types of content may work well for you. Design one type to be for being discovered, whether it be search, related videos, sharing, or whatever. Design another to be for your community (stuff that's valuable for them, but that people would probably not search for).

Well, I give away games monthly to support video game industry (PC) since it's plagued by pirates. And I gathered a lot of fans there, though they are usually there for the giveaways, some stay to watch my videos.
