YTTalker had his videos used on TV without permission!

Two observations about this story:

1. NMR needs to step up their game. Get and interview or a first hand account of the details of the story rather than referring to another article and some comments on a few YouTube videos.

2. The show in question that used the videos was Dateline NBC, which is a news show. For reporting purposes, fair use may apply. It's going to take an army of lawyers to prove the case and you can bet that NBC and all other news stations will fight this if it gets to court. It's actually quite common for news programs to use YouTube videos without permission. We've had it happen to us several times and we've even profited by it. We've also had videos used without permission with our watermark scrubbed by a certain non-news program. If that's how they want to play it, that's fine. There will be a day when they come to us to license a clip and payback is a b***h.

It may fall under fair-use and that's OK but they should put some little text on screen stating the source, I see that on local news all the time. I'm sure the local news isn't getting permission to use a Youtube video but if they give credit it makes it better under fair-use.

At some point, there should be a distinction between what is actual news and what is entertainment.
