Youtubers Lying About Their Age

You know, after being on Youtube for a year, this kinda got my attention. Youtube TOS states you must be at least 13 years of age, yet there are some people who explicitly confirm in their videos that they are younger, like around 10-12.

What are your opinions on that? I don't know, but it kinda drives me away from them.

really why lie i just made my first video for my new channel currently editing it and i said my real age is 15 and it is why would you lie about your age

Although it's stupid that they have to make that rule, it's for if parents see that their 8 year old has watched some graphic video, they don't go sue Youtube for "inappropriate content" because "technically" the KID lied about their age making the account.
Did ya know that Dunkin' Donuts had to start putting warnings about the coffee being hot on their cups after some lady spilled it, burned herself, and sued them for a shitload of money.

@konisbored The reason for the age limit is because there is a law (at least in the US) you have to be 13 to create an online account. This is for protection for predators and stuff. This why you have to be 13 to get an email, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube anything. Any site that allows you to get an account under 13 you must provide your parents emails address, an example of this clubpenguin.com. So if YouTube lowered the age it would just be a mess. And yeah you are supposed to be 13 to be on Facebook or Twitter, but there are millions of people under 13 on the site.

Lawsuits. Everyone's scared of them.

I swear I have never lied about my age on those sites, yet almost every friend in school I knew did.

I lied when I made my intro here. I said I was 30. I meant to say 32. Im so sorry! :(
We forgive you. :)

I know right? I mean, why can't they let the natural course of stupid take its course instead of making signs like this.
