I don't know where else to go to get attention! Youtube is not enforcing their own TOS!! I keep finding channels spamming EXTRA TAGS in video description and rising fast!!! I found a video last year spamming tags and the last time i looked they had 18 million + views with a long list of EXRA TAGS SPAM in the video description!

Look for yourself!!! This video and most of the entire channel spams extra tags away and the nw channel blows up fast and gets rewarded by youtube! SEE watch?v=lQdqJLupThs

I flag & wrote youtube they do nothing. SO I GUESS WE CAN ALL ADD EXTRA TAGS? Nobody from youtube cares. It's a myth!! Most of this guys videos are spamming extra tags and nothing happens when flagged!!!!

Am I wrong? Look at the video description on most of that accounts videos!!! Blatantly even writing the TAGS! C'mon!

well I wouldn't follow suit if I were you it's frustrating but it would be more likely youtube would do something to a small youtuber rather then a big youtuber remember google who bought youtube is a company and these people bring them in the big bucks

Loads of people use tags in descriptions because they hope people will understand they're only doing it to help their channel grow. I wouldn't want to damage someone's channel if all they're trying to achieve exactly the same as me. Obviously if it was something more serious like blatant copyright infringement or posting illegal material, then yeah, I'd report them. But it's only posting tags. No biggy.

I just ain't wanting to be no grass :P

I don't personally report people for that but it's a turn off on the video when someone misleads you to watch their video I want to be noticed but I am not willing to mislead people to get there and trust me someone will report your channel for such things and youtube will most likely do something about it if you have noone to save your backside but what people do on their videos and channel is none of my business just some friendly advice.

I've moved this to the main YouTube forum since I think it fits this forum a little better than the copyright forum... ^^

I think they sometimes enforce the tags in the description thing. Occasionally I've heard of videos being deleted for having tags in the description. It wouldn't surprise me if YouTube is working on a tool to auto-detect those kinds of things and try to prevent descriptions from being published with them. I look at tags in the description kind of like how click-baiting thumbnails used to work a few years ago (clickbait thumbnails no longer work as well with the new watchtime-based algorithm)...

There are some rules that are loosely enforced, and that probably one of them. Don't worry about what others are doing if it doesn't affect you. Focus on yourself as a YouTuber.
With this mindset it's hypocrisy! Really? It effects me!!!! The user is searching up over my rankings int he same niche. I just realized how many of you here know little about youtube and your very own growth on the platform. You have much to learn because you're okay with this sort of BS.

BTW, the channel is posting ton of content that they don't own and not even using fair use. But with your logic. You're basically happy playing fair while others jump all over you and keep you down by cheating the system. You are not a winner. I am! I'm not letting this happen. I'm going to reach out to a ton of youtuber's that care about fair game and do something about this!

I'm pretty sure youtube will eventually track this person if they are trying to cheat the system. You may look on their channel one day and its been terminated, it just may take a while for enough people to report this person and for youtube to take action

YouTube never enforces their own terms of service. All they enforce is copyright which is done automatically for them and requires legit no effort.

You don't need to go psycho about it. Trust me if YouTube is making money off of a video, and there aren't any copyright issues that will cause them to get sued, they won't take down the video unless a large number of people are offended by the content. Something as small as extra tags really isn't at the top of their priorities list. What I mean by focusing on yourself is, you can spend all your time working to try to take down someone else and possibly get no results, or you could use that time to focus on your channel and your content, and if you know that they won't enforce the extra tag rule then use it yourself. I can pretty much guarantee that the only way YouTube will care about extra tags is if it costs them money somehow. That's just how business works.
