YouTuber asks for free hotel room -Gets refused!

It used to be that customers had to stand up to companies to get them to change their business practices. Now, it's other way around. I enjoy good service and the companies that do their job well are the ones I want to keep in business. The very least I can do in return is pay what they ask. If nothing else, it's a sign of respect and appreciation in a world where people try to get everything for free.

Update - More posts from the hotel owner. This time he makes an official "apology":

and then a word of thanks with a plug for his book:

lol - Now that is how to use social media, folks !! :D

I think the hotel owner did the right thing.
I don't understand why people support that brat that expect to get things for free.

Plus the answer was hilarious.

That is.... a lot of effort to go through just to say no. Honestly, the hotel could have offered the typical legal mumbo jumbo to explain that they can't accept social media exposure in lieu of payment and all that, but the guy really went out of his way to be an *******. Geez.

Regarding his apology -- What if you're a vegetarian celiac blogger (*cough* like me.. *cough*)!? :( Now I feel ultra annoying.... I used to be vegan. He'd really have issues with my potential stay if that were still the case. :P

No publicity is bad publicity! It worked for Donald Trump -- he said crazy outlandish things that got people talking, and now he's president. Most of the Internet will think of his hotel whenever Dublin comes to mind. I know I will lol. :P I am sad that he's getting a bunch of bogus bad reviews because of this. That's not right.

But then again, there was that London guy who got his non-existent shed restaurant to rank #1 in TripAdvisor, so lots of people are becoming aware of how fake reviews can be. :/

honestly i agree with the owner too many youtubers feel entitled like if you're a successful youtuber with money pay for your room , food etc not everyone cares about giving you free service for a shout out!! Like the dude was probably offended cause he was like i don't neeed your youtube shoutout were already good !! I personally hate blogger youtubers they're so boring who wants to see someone live their life like live your own !! if you like what i have pay for it don't try to get it for free for a shoutout!! like this girl is so entitled its annoying dude just told her what she needed to hear lol

I think what she did was totally fine, sure maybe she shouldn't have asked... I guess? but it was worth a try. The problem I have is NOT with the youtuber asking for a 'fair' exchange but with the hotel dude. I don't think he should have made a bigger deal than it had to be. Why did he post it online if not to embarrass her? she asked a legit question, and should have got a polite email back without having the whole email posted online.
