Even though I understand what people are saying about Reddit being a very critical place, I have had the most success with Reddit out of all of these options. For my channel's niche, it's very easy to cater to subreddits specific for the particular games whose music I'm covering.

The results of this poll will be skewed, because not everyone will have used every option to its fullest advantage. Reddit is a tough nut to crack, but if you do it, it will obliterate the traffic from any other source - guaranteed. Don't get it right and it'll be a nightmare though. It's the most difficult network to promote on, but it will yield the biggest reward by far.

How do you use facebook to promote? It seems my page is invisible to the world unless people have hit "like".

I use my own Facebook page, so my current friends will see why I'm putting out. We created an entertainment page too. So taking them from our page to that new page is our goal. But in the mean time, everything goes on our current page, with our family and friends.

Some quite good tips in here, though I'm not too familiar with Reddit, I'm going to look into it!

As far as facebook goes, I find a lot of people don't tend to interact, their main purpose for having you as a friend is to be nosey, I can imagine it would be very different with a fan page.

Facebook is definitely the most effective for me. However, Facebook is also the most unreliable. With Instagram, I know I'm going to get a certain amount of likes, but on Facebook, my post might get anywhere from 3 likes all the way up to 30 likes (or even 70 likes if I'm REALLY lucky, but that has only happened once).

I used a website called Free YouTube Adverts. All you do is post your video on there and the views come rolling in.I posted one of my videos on there and the video recieved over 1,000 views in a few weeks, a step up from my other videos. Unfortunately, that website it down because of the new YouTube API and funding issues.

Here I am hearing about Reddit again. I guess I should check it out. Not sure if they would cater to a beauty channel's audience though. Thoughts anyone??

So, reddit is made up of several sub-reddits, which you can think of as topical forums. Reddit has a very particular audience that can be a little harsh at times (so you don't want to come across as purely self-promotional), but the strength of the site is that there are sub-reddits for a lot of different topics. you can usually google for your topic + reddit to see if there are any subreddits that are close to covering that subject.

But again, most reddits have a 90/10 rule...90% of what you post should NOT be self-promotional.

I have been trying to use Facebook and Twitter mainly, but have been having a difficult time with both.

My twitter is brand new so without followers it's difficult for people to care about your youtube link.

I will keep on grinding until I can get a steady fan base.

I've found Google+ to be a really effective way of gaining views and communicating with people who are interested in your content. The communities feature is really useful!
