YouTube. Not What You Thought It Would Be

It could be because you only had about 76 uploads on that channel. That's 1 video every 10 days, which isn't a good average. still, I see your point. Networking is a big deal as well.

Yeah, when I made that channel, I was under the age of 18. I had all the resources I needed. And then, my parents decided to hate me, and take everything away because I got a girlfriend. And I haven't gotten back into it regularly, since :/ But once I get the equipment I need, I'm gonna ambush Youtube haha
 
it all comes to how much are you willing to promote??? i find being in active forums that deal with your content is important and learning to use the web to your advantage. also take into account rwj and them all started youtube before they could get payed and got involved when YouTube was young, nowadays if he were to just have started he would not get as big as he has. Also you have to know how to use keywords and titles to your advantage, luck is apart of it yes but its comes down to effort. having good quality and consistent content.

Yeah, You're right. I just wish it were easier to catagorize. There's some program through google that shows how many searches a certain word or phrase gets in a month. I use that, sometimes. But it doesn't always work to the extent that I expect. haha
 
you have 2 videos on this channel i see... you need more content to attract subs which will help you get consistent viewers and the very important view, like and comment. why are these important you ask??? because when you get your video liked or commented on it has a chance of showing up on there subscribers news feed and if there sub likes it they might sub like or comment and so starts the telephone effect

I know! I just wish I had the equipment! :O One day... hahaha
 
you do have the equipment your making videos! just have to see which way you want to go with your channel and do it. You will always regret the video you didnt film the craziest stuff goes viral!. i had a friend that found a memory card in vegas and posted a couple pics from it on you tube and then some one posted it on reddit! the person it belonged to contacted him and payed him a finders fee which he tryed to decline plus the video got over a million views from all the exposer.

I don't have the equipment anymore.. My camera went out days before Christmas. I'm currently unemployed, so I can't buy one just yet... :/
And if crazy stuff goes viral, I can probably set something up... hahaha
 
I have a similar situation, and i must say, i have had a hard time doing this as well, i have found some controversial topics to suit me well, you could do a video about dreams, that was a hit of mine, in general, things that are bound to be going through EVERYONE'S head are the ones that will do good. A lot of the time, i will have a good video, get a few views, but then get TONS of comments. Most of this is luck, and yeah, just waiting for that day like you. Also, most people that get famous on youtube have a lot of energy or an EXTREMELY unique personality, personally, i'm not loud or anything, i'm chill and a lot of people like that, 1k people say i do. I wish the best of luck to you, oohh.. missed one. A lot of the viral videos are EXTREMELY stupid or annoying or maybe someone gets hurt on PURPOSE. I ran headfirst into a boat for my "hippie after dentist" video, wich is a parody of the viral "david after dentist" video, which has only gotten over 600 views in a month and a half and thought it would be a viral video, the best stuff on youtube, at least in my view, don't get the views they deserve. Hang in there, buddy.
