YouTube MCN Networks, nothing but parasites?

When you see massive networks like Fullscrewed signing up people with 300 subs, they make it real obvious. Can you imagine ANY TV network signing up a person an audience of $200?

Cant compare tv with youtube. Big difference, youtube isn't real fame, its online. Smaller channels pay for forums. Bigger channels get paid for more integration and help with copyrights and such.

Sure some networks may lie and say they will build your audience up, but its not my fault if people don't read the contract. Its obvious, they can't help you a lot if your giving them 5$ a month... that doesn't even afford a lunch at mcdonalds lol

You keep talking about $5 channels. I was bringing in $300/month with about 10,000 subs. That was on the low side of what is possible. There are TONS of channels making hundreds a month.

When I first started YouTube last year I thought that joining a MCN was required for gaming channels. Even though I looked around the interwebz quite a bit before joining a MCN, there is a lot of misinformation out there in regards of what a MCN can do for your channel so it is hard to judge what is true or false. Almost everything that a MCN can do for you can be done by yourself for free without forking over 10-40% of your earnings in the process.

I recently requested to be unlinked from my MCN being that they are falling through on the financial side of things

Almost every YouTube unlink request is going to be denied unless you are in the window where the MCN allows for it unless you are in a contract where you aren't locked in for x amount of months. They have nothing gain by letting you go but everything to lose.

I've been in communication with them and I'm no longer in contract so it should be approved

Yes, gaming channels might be different. It's tricky when everything you upload is essentially a YouTube TOS violation WITHOUT some kind of authorization. Now can you get permission yourself? I'm sure you can but in this case the work required MIGHT make the cut worth it. Still they should research on thier own first.

MCNs are there to help/ make things easier not do the work, other examples of this:

  • Do you buy an airline ticket or learn to fly a plane?
  • Do you buy meat or keep the animals yourself?
  • Do you use public transport or buy a car?
Do you use cheaper (usually easier to access) music libraries from an MCN or try get a likely more expensive license by yourself?
Do you use an MCN's support or try to research the issue yourself?
Do you use an MCN's sponsors or try reach out to some yourself?

Of course you can do this yourself and of course it will be cheaper in the long run, any service works this way.
But the point of that is and the one which MCNs are based on is that as a Creator you should be creating, so let another party handle the licenses, copyright, support, sponsorships, ads etc

WHY do people keep using this LAME excuse?

1) Nobody suggested they do the work, so why are you bringing that up again??
2) My suggestion is what work if ANY are they doing that is worth anything?

I don't know why this is so complicated. It's really very simple. IF, the MCNs are worth anything it should be demonstrable. For you to pay thousands of dollars to a company and not be able to show any benifit is foolish. You people keep talking about how much easier they make it but as I said already, if you make our jobs easier to any significant degree, it should be easy to prove! You examples are silly and do not reflect the issues at hand. Take your car example.

Taking public transportation has actual value therefore you can PROVE it easily! It's VERY easy to show travel times in traffic versus on a train. It's VERY easy to show how much more work you get done, while sitting in a train instead of driving. If MCNs were providing public transportation, you could easily show the benefit in your metrics. I'd just show you how much videos I'm able to do with the extra time and you would see my views going up and revenue.

Again...if MCNs have ANY real value for small channels why can't ONE person PROVE it! All I hear is empty talk like what those greedy bastards try to tell me. Put up or shut up! I showed you mines, now show me yours! DEMONSTRATE how an MCN has helped you and how it's worth anything.

Finally to your other silly points:

"Do you use cheaper (usually easier to access) music libraries from an MCN or try get a likely more expensive license by yourself?
Do you use an MCN's support or try to research the issue yourself?
Do you use an MCN's sponsors or try reach out to some yourself?"

-Tons of free music available online. Even YouTube I'm told now has music you can monitize. No MCN library is worth me giving them thousands a year for something I could get for free or for a fraction of the cost.
-Screw MCN support. I can't even get help from YouTube EMPLOYEES themselves who I already have direct contact with, so how is some outsider network gonna help more than me posting on forums and using Google and common sense?
-Sounds nice, but can you demonstrate this? Again, I put up PROOF of what I can do, so don't tell me about what you think they can do, PROVE it! Every scammer makes tons of lofty promises but fails to demonstrate that they can actually do what they promise. Not ONE MCN has been able to provide me with ANY proof ANYTHING. What kind of fool buys a product just based on empty promises? Would you buy a car from some no name company just based on salesman pitch? Even if you knew of the company but did not know about thier performance (reviews or ANY info on how thier products are), would you buy thier product?
