YouTube, Help Us Small Channels

I think youtube arent really doing much to help the smaller channels of the community grow, because there are a lot of small youtubers (10k and less) with great content but nobody can find their videos because youtube are helping the channels with the millions of subscribers which I personally think don't need help anymore. What I mean is putting them on your watch page. I think they need to have a section called something like Future YouTubers dedicated for the us good smaller channels to help us grow. What do you think?

Read this, and understand this: YouTube is a business, and businesses are there to make money. Why spend your resources on a wannabe when you can spend them on the actual real deal? The labor cost is the same, but the gains are widely apart. (Hell, I think YouTube would probably loose money trying to promote the likes of you and I).

So no. Just no.

I agree with you 100%. You have to understand however, that YouTube is also a business. They want to make money from their site. They make the most money off of these big channels! The better the channel does, the more traffic goes to their channel. The more traffic that goes to their channel, the more people are watching ads and commercials. The more ad time, the more money for YouTube and other companies. Its sad to say that, but it's true. I can literally type my channel name verbatim in the search box on YouTube, and my name does not appear in the search results. I feel your pain, but I don't think there is anything that can be done.

Not lose, no. They'll probably gain more if they were to give a small tab to new youtubers in the watch page. It's a win-win, really.

I agree.

There is this tool called Fan Finder which is available even for small channels and suppose to help you get your subscribers. But it seems that it works great for bigger youtubers and does almost nothing for the smallest :/

You just made me very angry and I'll leave it at that because if I don't, I'll probably get banned from here forever.

Listen to what Hannah Hard said in yesterday's Creator Academy video.

I type in my name and mine is the first channel to come up, and I only have 97 subs.[DOUBLEPOST=1424304369,1424303972][/DOUBLEPOST]

Nothing comes free my friend. You have to work as hard as those guys with the bigger channels did to get ahead. Youtube owes us little channels nothing. And to be frank with you, they are out to make money, which the bigger channels do for them.

There is one way to get youtubes attention and thats GROW YOUR CHANNEL. This forum, and in fact all over youtube is videos and advice to help you grow your subsciber base, which in turn, grows your views, which makes money for youtube.

Follow the advice you and will grow, I started my channel in May 2014, I watched and learned and in just a couple months I grew my channel from 45 subs to 97. So it can be done. Alot of it depends on your content too. If you put up videos people want to watch they will find you. But you have to network too. Twitter, Google Circles, Twitch, Facebook all help you. This forum will help you. Posting your videos in forums with like content will help get your name out to potential viewers.

But youtube is under no obligation to help us succeed. Its up to you, if you have the drive, the content and the energy you will succeed.

I only have 3 subs haha. You have probably been around a lot longer than I have :)
Yeah I started in May of 2014, but didnt start really working at it till October. It takes alot of work...and alot of patience. LOL good luck![DOUBLEPOST=1424304632,1424304565][/DOUBLEPOST]
