YouTube has Ruined Everything

It's actually a really good advancement as Google begins to dominate the entire technological world, and not just the pc/web, but mobiles and tablets (android) and now they've got the Google TV. That's what this is preparing for, youtube moving on to TV as TV's becoming more connected to the internet. Don't believe me? Google even explains that the profile art dimensions are made so that they suit a TV screen.

Just looking at it on the web though, I think it offers a more level playing ground for all youtubers, especially those that can't afford or are unskilled in graphic design, since the focus of the community is on actual videos after all. Some channels are just an eyesore too. I think this looks more professional. I would like to be able to have a light theme and a dark theme across the whole of youtube tho.

I like the new layout because it brings everyone back to a level playing field.
There's no more of that "Partnered" background crap which I hated because it automatically reduces normal non-Partnered channels to something of less value or professionalism. Not that a partnered channel is better or more professional but it makes it seem that way with the old set up.
As for OP's claim. I think you can still show off your talents with the new layout. It's obvious when someone has a good quality banner because it looks good. There are tons of crappy banners out there. You can also put in one personal link and up to 4 social media sites.

Truth be told, I accept change become you can only grow if you change. Stagnate and die or change and live on. Also I focus more on the videos of youtube then someones channel layout. Just my 5 cents (I say 5 cause we demised the penny in Canada)

I think it will def be better in the long run. I love my background, but think the new layout will look more professional and less "noisy". A lot of channels are just all over the place with their backgrounds. Having the banner on all platforms is an excellent feature as well.

Do you know why Myspace died and why Facebook is the biggest social network on the internet?

Yeah, that's why OneChannel has happened.
